Zir. Even if crushed into powder by it, Until sinful deeds are exhausted, Suffering continues, yet one does not die. Inside a fiercely burning iron mortar, With a fiercely burning iron pestle, Even if pounded into powder, until five hundred years are complete, One still does not abandon life. On trees that burn fiercely like coral, On burning and rough iron thorns, Yamaraja's executioners, wrathful and without protectors, Pull and squeeze from above and below. Some great piles of burning embers, Burning fiercely like refined gold, I am experiencing the fruit of my own evil deeds. Merely relying on the power called "rolling." Some are on fiercely burning ground, With a hundred stakes, their tongues are stretched out. Unbearable diseases torment the body, and sounds are emitted. Those people then understand the other world. Some are wrapped in burning iron sheets, Others are thrown into large iron pots. Some suffer sharp weapons raining down, and their bodies fall into hell. Fierce beasts strip flesh and skin until exhausted. Some are tormented by the heat of the flames, And thrown into rough rivers that are difficult to cross. There, their flesh rots. Bound by the power of evil deeds, life does not end. Others are tormented severely, Hoping to survive in piles of unclean corpses, Entering them, they experience unparalleled suffering there. Countless worms devour the body and bones. Some bodies burn in the fire, Experiencing intensely hot suffering for a long time. Even if in the burning fire, like iron being melted, One will not turn to ashes because of one's own karma. Others are caught in burning coal nets, and some are cut by sharp razors. Some are struck on the head with iron hammers, suffering sadly, and crying out in agony. Some are supported by huge bright trees, burning in smokeless flames. Still others are fed molten iron like pus, emitting groaning sounds. Some are torn apart by various powerful dogs, With sharp teeth and fangs. The flesh of the body is stripped away, becoming thin, Emitting lowly sounds, becoming weak and falling down. Hell is so unbearable, so uncomfortable, The moment of experiencing being thrown by one's own karma, When sadness, heartache, fear, and becoming miserable, At that time, who are you (relying on)?

Who will come to collect debts from you? A great iron cauldron fiercely burning, difficult to find, In the unbearable, the bodies of beings in evil realms are demanded, Forced by the power of intense boiling, involuntarily transformed. At that time, who will come to collect debts from you? The ground burns, smokeless, appearing yellow, Iron stakes burning, a hundred stakes piercing the body, Intensely burning the body, pitifully smoking. At that time, who will come to collect debts from you? When dwelling in a place of extreme torment, At that time, great suffering will be experienced, Unable even to utter a word in response, At that time, who will come to collect debts from you? The cold wind fiercely buffets, Unable even to make a moaning sound, The cracking of bones emits a sound of poverty, In the next life, who will come to collect wealth? Killed by the executioners of Yama, Or burned by fiercely blazing fire, Flesh and blood taken and devoured, Who will demand wealth from you, experiencing suffering? Killing, cutting, dissecting, and beating, Burning, flaying, pounding, and destroying, With many harms constantly causing suffering, At that time, how shall I seek debts? Then, that king, having heard the extremely terrifying talk of sentient beings in hell, became displeased, abandoned attachment to wrong views, believed in the existence of the afterlife, prostrated to that great sage, and said: Having heard of the suffering of hell, My mind is utterly terrified by fear. I wonder how I will experience those sufferings, The fire of thoughts burns me as if consuming me. My mind has fallen into wrong views, For a long time, I have gone down the wrong path. Here, you see the place of virtue, You, the capable one, are my protector and refuge. You have dispelled the darkness of my wrong views, Just as the rising sun dispels the darkness. So that I do not fall into the lower realms, Please tell me such a path. Then, the Bodhisattva, seeing that the king had become displeased, turned to right view, and had become a vessel capable of practicing the Dharma, like a father loving his son, and a teacher loving his student, taught him in this way.
