Ma Par Rig. Previously unprecedented, sins piled up like mountains, The arrogant and conceited ones, their bad reputation spreads. In the forest protected by your power, Even if others do harm, it should be sheltered. Without benefit, condemned by the holy ones, How should the great king himself act? With the guardian deity Nyugrum, the women, Arriving freely at my dwelling, What slight fault have I committed? How could it be possible to be blamed like that? Even if I have truly committed a fault, But if the king can forgive, it will be more beautiful. For those with power, forgiveness is the best ornament, Follow merit and show wisdom. Like being adorned with forgiveness, how beautiful, With radiant light on the face, earrings and Various precious jewels, shining head ornaments, Thinking that is a beautiful ornament, it is not so. One should never associate with, should not tolerate, should abandon. One should protect the forgiveness that brings benefit. If the king comes as an ascetic, Then one should treat him with respect. The most supreme Thuba advised with such gentle words, But the king, due to his untamed and clouded mind, suspected him in another way, And said again: Like an ascetic, you have not adorned, If you truly abide in your own vows, Using the pretext of teaching the precepts of forgiveness, Why do you grant me the fearless giving? The Bodhisattva said: Great King, please listen to why I have acted in this way. Because I fear that the Brahmin renunciate will be killed innocently by the king, and your reputation will be tarnished because of me. Sentient beings will eventually die, This truth is certain. After observing my actions, I am therefore even more fearless. Fearing that in the future it will harm the truth of the Dharma, Doing so would be harmful. In order to obtain happiness and benefit, Therefore, I speak of forgiveness to you. Forgiveness is the source of merit, And can also eliminate various sins. Like the birth of an extremely good son, I joyfully speak of forgiveness. Then, although the king spoke very truthful words, he did not listen, Angered by the Thuba's words, which were like flowers, He said to that supreme sage: You like forgiveness, today I will see, saying, Thuba

That person slightly raised his right hand, spreading his slender and long fingers to prevent it, and with a sharp sword, he cut off the wrist like severing the root of a lotus. When his wrist was cut off, the executioner dwelt in ease, but later he would experience unbearable suffering. How unbearable that suffering is! But I have not become so afflicted. Then the Bodhisattva thought: Alas, there is nothing to be surprised about. This person has gone beyond the thought of benefiting me, and he has not become a vessel for receiving teachings, it is truly in vain! Like a patient abandoned by a doctor, he felt sorrow for him and sat without saying a word. Then the king threatened him again, saying: If you gradually cut like this, your body will disappear. You wicked fellow, stop this hypocritical asceticism! Then the Bodhisattva, knowing that he could not be taught and would do evil in this way, said nothing to him. Then that king also cut off one of the great being's hands, two arms, ears, nose, and two legs in the same way. Even when his body was cut and fell to the ground, he knew the limits of the body's parts, and because he was accustomed to patience towards all beings, that supreme Sage was not disturbed and had no sorrow. Even though his body was cut, his mind observed virtue, and his patience never diminished. He did not experience suffering because of joy, and seeing the king lose the Dharma, he became displeased. Discerning separately, possessing patience and compassion, unable to bear the suffering of others, my great suffering will not cause so much harm. Because that king committed an intolerable act, immediately a plague blazed like fire, initially emerging from the nearby forest, and immediately entered into the crack in the earth. That king, because of the earth cracking, uttered a fearful sound, entered into the blazing flames, and a great clamorous sound arose all around. The king's retinue was greatly disturbed, and the king's ministers knew that it was due to the great power of the Sage's asceticism, and that the reason for the king's entering the earth was also due to this. Because of the king's sins, this sage destroyed the city and
