Even so, you must, exert diligence, and stop it with great power. I thought I had done asceticism, and fell asleep with pride. You have done very great asceticism, that has also been abandoned for a long time. Like the mouth of the Lord of Death, as if taken from another world. I rescued you from this cliff, but you will fall elsewhere. What will you do with your bad behavior? Ignorance is very unbearable. Those who desire the happiness of all beings, by what are they thrown into suffering? They themselves fall into the lower realms. I too am destroyed by the fire of sorrow. The glory of fame has also disappeared. Merit is contrary to joy. It also becomes the basis for speaking ill. The mind also cannot be stabilized. By doing that, what meaning will be accomplished? Just as this has harmed my mind, so this wound will not harm me. For your sake, I have also become a sinner. Because I cannot destroy this either. You, from this deep and terrifying forest cave, have not been sent to the road to the village. In the meantime, I will leave from your side. Even if you are forever suspicious of being untamed, you must send them off well. You are alone, and your body is also weak. If you don't know the way and wander in the forest. Someone will come and harm you. Harming you is also meaningless. That great monkey also did that to that person, mocked him, let him go to the village, also showed him the way, and said: You go from this pleasant forest to the village. Abandon the difficult to reach solitary place and terror, and live in peace. You should also strive to completely abandon sinful actions. Such a ripening will surely be suffering. There, that great monkey taught that person with compassion like a disciple, and then returned to the forest. After that, that person, because he had done such a bad sinful deed, was burning his heart with the fire of regret. Immediately he got a big leprosy disease. The appearance also changed. The skin of the body also became mottled. The pus from the festering sores made the body wet. The smell of the body also became very unpleasant.

Wherever he went, he appeared terrifying, making it impossible to believe he was human. Seeing him make shrill noises and speak lowly words, people thought, "This is evil manifest!" So they threw stones and struck him with sticks, driving him away with harsh words of expulsion. Then, a king went out hunting. In a certain monastery, he saw someone wandering like a wild animal, extremely weak, wearing dirty clothes, with his loins wrapped in rags, looking utterly repulsive. The king felt disgusted and amazed, and asked, "Leprosy has made your body ugly, scabies has broken your skin, consumption has made you emaciated and weak, your hair is full of dust and matted. Who are you? Like a hungry ghost? A manifestation of sin or a corpse? A collection of many diseases? Which disease are you?" The man bowed to the king and said in a low voice, "Great king, I am not human, nor am I non-human." The king asked, "Then why have you become like this?" The man told him of the misdeeds he had committed: "By harboring hatred towards loving-kindness, I have temporarily enjoyed this flower (referring to the bad result). Therefore, even more unbearable consequences will come later. Therefore, loving-kindness should be regarded like an enemy. Towards friends who are naturally loving, one should act with natural loving-kindness. By adopting an attitude of hatred towards those who are loving, one will experience such a state in this very life. The mind is clouded by faults such as attachment, and from this one can infer what kind of consequences those who harbor hatred towards loving-kindness will suffer in future lives. By cherishing friends and being known for loving-kindness, one gains fame. One also obtains happiness by gaining trust and serving others. One gains the qualities of bad friends and the mind is also pleased. All enemies cannot defeat one, and one will attain higher realms. O King, you have understood the merits and faults of the side of loving-kindness. Noble beings rely on the path of desire, and by following that path, wealth will follow. Therefore, even if noble beings fall away from the path of virtue because of those who do harm, their mental anguish will not be as intense as the suffering I feel from my own pain."
