Not doing is not because, in order to obtain wealth for oneself. Whoever does, is the one who does that thing, all the great sins. If the Lord of Freedom does it, then one should respect him. Seeing what merits do they do it? If they fear sin, then all of them should fear. If he does not do that, then it is said that everything is done by the Lord of Freedom, therefore it should not be said. That also becomes the Lord of Freedom himself, does it change from Dharma or from something else? If it changes from Dharma, then before that he is not the Lord of Freedom. Whoever is done by others, that is a servant. That Lord of Freedom, for what reason, is not done by a cause? Even so, they respect and are attached, abandoning what is reasonable and unreasonable. If you believe that the cause of all beings is the great Lord of Freedom, then the fault of Indra killing the monkey king, should not be imposed on me. Thus, that great Lord of Freedom refuted the statement that the Lord of Freedom is the cause with good reasons, and then summoned those who said it was done by past karma, and had them come forward first, and then said: It is not good for you to scold me either. You say that all of this is done by past karma, and that is why you scold me. If everything is done by past karma, then there is no fault in me killing this monkey. Because of past karma, the monastery was burned down by fire, what sin do I have to be scolded by you? If there is sin in me killing the monkey, then what I killed is not past karma. If you want karma and the cause of karma, if that is the case, no one will be liberated. The cause of suffering may also turn into happiness, and the pursuit of happiness will also have suffering present. The happiness and suffering that are happening now, certainly appear to be done by past karma. Happiness and suffering are not turned into that either, therefore it is not the cause of past karma. Newly created karma will also become non-existent, if that is not established, how can the previous one be established? Past karma did everything, however, if you think that way, why is the karma of killing the monkey, completely considered to be done by me? Thus, that great Lord of Freedom with irrefutable reasons

As the earth responded with a silent joy. He smiled slightly at the one who preached annihilationism and said: "Why do you, long-lived ones, delight so in me, a fool? If you think that annihilationism is the truth, then if there is no next world, what will anyone do? Who will strive for evil and good? The wise can also act as they please. If that is the case, there is no fault in killing that monkey. Who would fear the reproaches of the world? If one abandons evil and abides in virtue, one will not know the reproaches of the world by acting contrary to my words. If one abides in the ways of the world, one will not obtain the happiness of one's own doctrine, and therefore speaking will be a meaningless mistake. This is the last in childhood. Whatever you have said, trees with various colors and qualities, not made by karma, will nevertheless appear. Rotten things will not grow again in the same way. What is the lineage in the world that is like this? Even so, if you are those who hold to annihilationism, what is there to blame for killing a monkey or even a human?" In this way, that great bodhisattva, with a well-ordered and clear answer, refuted the annihilationist, making him speechless. Then he summoned the one who was skilled in the royal lineage's rules and said to him: "Why do you reproach me? If you think that sacrifices and other rituals originate from the Brahmanical scriptures, then for the sake of existence, whether it is good or bad, whatever is done, then one obtains liberation and practices the Dharma with wealth. It is because you say this that I reproach you. When needs arise, even if one does not consider good or evil towards friends and relatives, if I killed this monkey for its skin, the Brahmanical rules would not blame me. Is it because there is no compassion that one is blamed? Such questioning actions will see the fruit of suffering. Not acting according to the appearance of the doctrine, by what means do you do this? Where is there such a doctrine that is in accordance with reason? What a foolish mistake that is! Alas! The shameless one has suppressed justice and promoted what is not Dharma by the path of Brahmanism."
