It is said that he was born as a merchant of a king who was revered like a precious jewel. Then, he himself and others were masters of the Dharma, adorned with virtues such as learning, and almost everyone in the world became an object of respect. Then, after that great Bodhisattva went to the royal palace, one of his in-laws went to his house to take care of some business and to meet his daughter. After performing the rituals of welcoming guests, they started talking, and he asked his daughter, the wife of the Bodhisattva, whether she was well or not. Daughter, does your family love you? Is the merit of your respect cherished? Is there anything unpleasant? When asked these questions, she lowered her head in shame and humbly said: Such discipline, merit, and conduct are not found even among the renunciants. Then, her mother became old, her ears could not hear clearly, and her mind was not clear, and she did not hear clearly the words that her daughter said because of shame and humility, but only heard the sound of renunciation, and thought: My soldier must have renounced. Then, she was controlled by her daughter's sorrow and suffering, and began to cry and shout loudly. Like this, I have also lost my dear one, he has renounced, what kind of discipline, merit, and conduct does he have? What kind of renunciation is that son's renunciation? He is in his prime, has a handsome appearance, is young and strong, and is well taken care of, he is an important person of the king, how could he have the thought of living in a monastery? There was no quarrel with his family, and he did not become ugly because of old age, he was not sick, how could he give up his family's wealth with just one word? Adorned with the ornaments of intelligence and gentleness, full of love for others, even when happy he is gentle, unstable, without compassion for his family, how did such a person learn this? Offering to practitioners and Brahmin friends, relieving family members and the poor, what is he looking for in the forest monastery? Can't it be found in a family with cleanliness, discipline, and wealth? Following and being a Dharma friend, sin

Without abandoning, who has been forsaken? Having great faith in the Dharma, Not looking at things that contradict the Dharma, Like this, abandoning respectful people, There is not even a little compassion in the heart, Slightly hoping to accomplish the Dharma, Alas, it is like being punished by the heavens. Then the wife of the Bodhisattva, Because my household has renounced the world, My mother is heartbroken, crying out from the depths of her heart, Because the nature of women is unreliable, her heart is unhappy, and she becomes empty and dazed. The suffering of grief stirs up her mind, and she even forgets the thread of her speech. Hearing the bad news that my household has renounced the world, Thinking that my mother has come here to comfort me, The daughter cries out in lamentation, shouting loudly, and faints from excessive grief. The people of the house and the servants also hear this, and wail loudly from the force of the suffering of grief. Neighbors, friends, and relatives, as well as Brahmins and householders who rely on them, also hear this, and those who are attached to that householder, as well as most of the people in the royal palace, gather at that house. For in the world, existence is, Happiness and suffering are equally experienced, Therefore, this is also like a student in the world, Happiness and suffering are equally experienced. Then, the Bodhisattva returns from the king's palace and goes to a place near his home, Seeing that my house is in mourning and many people are gathered, He instructs my servant, saying, "Go and find out what has happened." After he investigates and comes before him, He says to him: Master has abandoned the wealthy household, Having heard that you have renounced the world, From where are these people, Gathered out of love? Then, the Bodhisattva, because of his pure nature, as if encouraged by those words, Feeling ashamed and displeased, he says: Alas! It is so good that people have such expectations of me, For the virtues of the people, Speaking and receiving praise, If I were to return home, How could someone like me be acceptable? Like this, believing in my faults, Merits
