Therefore, one should strive to be able to control oneself and to be familiar with the Dharma. This is the thirteenth story about the reincarnation of the drunken woman. 《Volume 5》 If one abides in the Dharma, even with just true words, one will be liberated from misfortune, let alone its result? Therefore, one should follow the Dharma. For example, a great Bodhisattva with extremely sharp intellect became a ship captain. It is said that Bodhisattvas are naturally sharp-witted, and whatever special treatises they want to learn, or whatever special skills they want to learn, they are sharp-witted in those areas and surpass others. That great being was skilled in the movement of stars, not confused about the details of directions, knew natural and sudden omens, was skilled in physiognomy, skilled in the order of seasons and non-seasons, and even with signs such as the color of fish and water, the differences in land, birds and wild animals, he could well discern the direction of the ocean. He had a strong memory, little laziness and sleep, and did not care about suffering such as cold, heat, and rain. He possessed great caution and reliance, and was skilled in methods such as direct and inverse, so he could make merchants reach their desired destinations. Because he greatly accomplished the benefit of beings, his name was also called "Good at Crossing to the Other Shore." Those who thought of going somewhere to accomplish their goals arrived at a place where they could smoothly reach the other shore. They requested the great Bodhisattva to enter that great ship. He (the Bodhisattva) said to them: Due to old age, my eyesight has deteriorated; because of youth and weakness, my memory has also greatly declined; my physical functions have also weakened, how can you expect me to help? The merchants said: We know what your physical condition is like, even if you do not have the ability to use violence, we are not asking you to help us do things. Besides, if we rely on the lotus at your feet, the ship will be auspicious and prosperous, even if it is difficult to navigate in the sea, we can safely reach the other shore. Then, that great being, out of compassion for them, even though his body was already old and weak, entered the great ship. When he entered the ship, all the merchants thought: Now we will surely be able to accomplish our goals without any obstacles, and they were very happy. Then, they gradually entered the great sea, where various kinds of fish were swimming, the huge sound of waves was heard, the wind was blowing many waves, various kinds of jewels and various colors of land changed the color of the sea water, the foam was as beautiful as a garland of flowers, it was the place where Asuras and Dragon Kings lived, and they entered the unfathomable and limitless sea. Then, the sea water was as blue as the light of sapphire, like the light of the sun melting the blue sky. The coastline was not visible around, and they entered the unfathomable depths of the ocean. After they arrived there, in the afternoon, the halo of the sun became very small. Suddenly, a very terrible and frightening great omen appeared. The waves rolled, the foam scattered, the strong wind blew and made a terrible sound, all the water shook violently, no longer calm. The sea immediately became turbulent. The ominous sign suddenly appeared, driven by the strong wind, and the huge waves stirred with terrible force. The wind of the end of the kalpa.
