If one suffers because of one's own suffering and does not consider one's own happiness, like being attached to a সামান্য property and being unwilling to give it away, who else would do that? Therefore, one should praise those who practice generosity, extol the merits of compassion, show the greatness of the Tathagata, and listen to the Dharma with reverence. The Blessed One said, 'These five monks do many good deeds.' His meaning refers to this. The Blessed One, like accepting those five who became yakshas, bestowed upon them the nectar of the Dharma. The eighth chapter of the Jataka of the Bodhisattva Born of Loving-Kindness. The conduct of a Bodhisattva, even ordinary beings cannot rejoice in it, let alone practice it? It is heard as follows: Subduing the senses becomes a habit, brave, endowed with demeanor and gentleness, obtaining the glory of victory, surely honoring the elders, understanding the three Vedas and the truth of investigation, one's own retinue strives for one's own Dharma and deeds, without meaningless thoughts in the mind, living happily, close ones proclaim good laws. The work done by the spies is successfully completed. A king named Kuntijaya of the Shivi country was born. Possessing virtues, like the glory of the lord of men, as close as a virtuous wife, like a wild animal guarded by a lion in a mountain cave, other lords of the land cannot spy on him. Ascetics and castes and arts, the inner retinue is accustomed to these. Coming to serve becomes more grand, reverence seems to be the most important. As soon as Dararaja obtained the kingdom, he immediately made his son named Sarvatrātā, who had many virtues and was widely known, as regent. At that time, that regent was the Blessed One himself. Although young, he likes to be close to quiet old men. Although majestic, he is patient and calm. Although learned, he has no arrogance of knowledge. Possessing glory and wealth, he has no arrogance. His fame pervades the three worlds, even seeing the four directions extremely vast.

Even the slightest fame I have will vanish as if there were no room left. Unable to bear the immeasurable suffering of beings, with the bow of compassion and the arrows of generosity raining down like rain, it is as if waging a great war with them. Every day, he would treat those who came to beg even more generously than beggars, satisfying them with gentle words, respect, and delight. On special days, he would always observe fasting and adorn himself with extreme tranquility. After bathing and putting on white clothes, he would ride the supreme elephant, which resembled a snow mountain, whose forehead was adorned with silver ornaments, possessing all the characteristics, tamed, swift, full of courage, worthy of praise, riding this supreme incense elephant. He would patrol around the city, inspecting those houses that I had given alms to, which were arranged like pools for the poor. He obtained such joy: for those who desire to give alms to the poor, the joy that arises is not as great as the joy of enjoying wealth while staying at home. Then, he heard the beggars who were very fond of giving alms proclaiming this everywhere. At that time, another king under the sun thought: This person is addicted to giving alms and can be deceived, so he sent a Brahmin to the place where the supreme elephant had gone. Then, everything was liberated. He patrolled the houses of alms, very happy, with a radiant face. Those Brahmins greeted him with victory and auspicious wishes, raised their right hands, praised him, and stood before him. He seized the supreme elephant and asked them why they had come with the words, "Please tell me your wish." The Brahmins said: You are fond of giving alms, and this great elephant of yours, we have come to seek the merits of its elegant gait and majestic posture. Please grant us this elephant, which is like the snow of Mount Kailash, and make this world marvel, please be happy because of this. After saying this, the Bodhisattva
