It is. Filling the hands with flowers of joy, here also I bestow upon you the supreme. Then, the Bodhisattva, in order to show happiness to the noble man in all circumstances, said to Indra: Seeing steadfastness, hearing steadfastness, I, Indra, am associated with them. Speaking with him, possessing the happiness of eloquence. Please, O supreme one of the gods, grant that to me. Indra said: If you greatly rejoice in steadfastness, then speak of it. What has steadfastness done for you? Speak of the cause of that light. Why does one who desires to see steadfastness become like one who is not steadfast? Then, the Bodhisattva, in order to show the virtues of the noble man, said: Friend, listen to me, why I only desire to see steadfastness. Virtue makes me personally go to the path. And also makes me enter that path. Harsh words cannot be endured, they do not arise. His words are beneficial. He is always adorned with discipline free from deceit. In that way, he is also able to show benefits. In that way, my mind is delighted in virtue. Because of delighting in virtue, I have become extremely immersed. Then, Indra praised him, saying: Well done, this is well done. His mind became extremely pleased, and he bestowed the supreme again. Because he is accustomed to contentment, even if you completely reject it, you bind me with wisdom. The supreme is a kind to be accepted. With respect and beneficial thoughts, and with all the power that there is, to one who has bestowed the supreme, not accepting is great suffering. Then, the Bodhisattva, realizing that he wants to help greatly, because of delighting in them and wanting to benefit them, said to that steadfast one who greatly rejoices in giving: You have abandoned the fault of exhausting food. And your mind is also in harmony with delighting in giving, and the beggars are adorned with pure morality. I have these, please beg for the supreme. Indra said: Here also you have spoken well, you have become a source of jewels. Furthermore, whatever you have received, all of those will come to pass as such. For this well-spoken word, the supreme should also be bestowed upon you. The Bodhisattva said: Gods!

You are the most excellent of all. You are the most excellent giver who will benefit me. To clearly indicate that you will not come to me again, I make this most excellent request to you, the subduer of the Asuras. Then, Indra was very surprised and said to him as if he could not bear it: "Look for a moment. If these people want to be in harmony with me through recitation, asceticism, and the austerity of the most excellent giver, because I want the most excellent giver, that is why I came here. Why do you not want to see it that way?" The Bodhisattva said: "I will please you here. Lord of the Gods, please do not blame me. This is not an unruly manner, nor is it disrespectful, nor is it that I do not want to meet you. Seeing the excellent and wonderful form of the gods, seeing the glorious, bright, and radiant form, even if you are very happy and peaceful, I fear that my asceticism will decline." Then, Indra bowed down to him and circumambulated him, and then disappeared. Then, when it dawned, the food and drink of the gods prepared by Indra, and the hundreds of Pratyekabuddhas invited by Indra, and the young sons of the gods who were preparing and gathering offerings, were seen by the Bodhisattva. With those prepared food and drink, those great sages were offered to, and the Buddha attained great joy. The conduct in accordance with the ascetics, and the immeasurable meditations, discipline, and the place of peace. Therefore, even those who live in the forest of asceticism, if they are adorned with generosity and bravery, what need is there to mention those who live at home? Therefore, people should adorn themselves with generosity. In order to praise the benefactor, thus the Blessed One spoke well in the past life as well. This is a special source of jewels. What need is there to mention when one attains perfect enlightenment? It should also be applied to showing the greatness of the Tathagata. The seventh chapter of the Jataka of Agastya is complete. Volume three, Compassion.
