Like seeing a treasure, he entered the fire with great joy. Like a lotus blooming in water, the lord of the gods saw this and was amazed in his heart. Abiding in his own body, with divine flowers falling like rain, he praised him with words that were pleasing to the ear and heart, saying: With his own hands, which are like lotus petals, full of splendor, adorned with beautiful rings, he lifted it up and said to the gods residing in the realm of the Thirty-Three: Look! Rejoice in this great being's extremely rare body! Today, do not be stingy with love for the guest. Alas! How did he give up his body! Even the inferior of unstable beings cannot give up like this without hesitation. Like this lineage that is contrary to those, this vast generosity, and this clear mind, for the gods and humans who do not accumulate merit, this is clearly shown as an example. Alas! He has become accustomed to merit, and this has been absorbed into his mind. Alas! He is immersed in sacred conduct, and this vast conduct is shown by him. Then, in order to make Indra's special action more stable, thinking that this would benefit the world, he built the excellent Victory Banner Palace, and the assembly place of the gods, the Good Dharma Hall, and decorated the center of the moon with the image of a rabbit. In the beautiful center of the moon, there is also the image of a rabbit in the tilted place, like an image in a mirror, appearing extremely beautiful. From then on, the people of the world, on the moon, the sign of the night when the kumuda flower opens, call it the moon with the sign of the rabbit. Therefore, if you see such a great Bodhisattva reborn as an animal, also giving alms to the best of his ability, then who among those reborn as humans would not give alms? Similarly, if those reborn as animals also like merit, then in order to be offered to the holy ones, one should also respect merit. It should also be said like this. This is the story of the rabbit's reincarnation, the sixth story. For those who live in the hermitage of asceticism, generosity and bravery are their ornaments, so what need be said for those who live at home? It was also heard that this Bhagavan is the Bodhicitta.

When taking rebirth, while dwelling in samsara for the benefit of the world, manifesting with completely pure conduct and merits, becoming an ornament on the earth, just as a complete moon disc rises in the sky, he was born into a Brahmin caste, so it is said. Similarly, like the rituals arising from hearing and remembering, the deeds of birth and other activities were completed. He learned the Vedas along with their branches, and his fame as a wise man spread throughout the entire human world. Givers and those who delight in merit prayed, and he accepted the offerings, becoming extremely wealthy for the sake of prosperity. Relatives and close friends, the steadfast and the poor, as well as guests and gurus, all those to whom respect should be shown, were fully satisfied with that wealth, like clouds pouring heavy rain on the land. Because of his wisdom, his fame was further enhanced by generosity and bravery, like the autumn moon, completely pure and even more radiant due to its fullness. Then, that great being, dwelling in a house, was seized by the fault of being entangled in evil affairs, becoming a place of carelessness, disturbed by the accumulation and protection of wealth, contrary to peace, becoming the target of many arrows of suffering, exhausted by endless livelihood activities, and realizing that the happiness enjoyed was little due to lack of contentment. Renunciation is free from those faults, and happiness is in accordance with Dharma practice. Seeing it as a place to initiate the Dharma of liberation, he abandoned like grass the perfect wealth obtained without the defilement of afflictions, respected by the world, and pleasing things, and thus diligently engaged in the monastic discipline and vows of an ascetic. Even though that great Bodhisattva had renounced, in order to manifest with great fame, as well as the remembrance of past lives, the qualities of existence, and complete peace, those who desired goodness, satisfied with his many qualities, gathered and followed after him. Those people did not like the noise of householders, because it destroys the happiness of extreme solitude and becomes a disturbance, distraction, and obstacle.
