What is the connection with aging and so on? Then, that great Bodhisattva, through the power of merit, enjoyed great happiness like the enjoyment of the gods. The father also loved and highly respected him, making him feel at ease and relaxed. After being served with great ceremony, soon after, from his own sacred palace, the time came to enjoy the Kumuda (water lily) flowers. The father also allowed him to go and see the magnificent spectacle adorned like joy. A splendid chariot adorned with various exquisite ornaments of gold, jewels, and silver, with fluttering banners and victory flags of various colors erected. The chariot was covered with golden clay, drawn by tame and comfortable horses. The driver was skilled, proficient in driving, clean, tame, and steady. Attendants surrounded him dressed in various splendid costumes. Guided by the melodious sound of drums, he rode in the chariot, slowly departing from that sacred palace. The people around the palace, seeing the prince, were distracted, amazed, and stared intently at him. They praised him, making him happy, joined their palms in respect, and uttered auspicious wishes. When he observed the many beauties of those immersed in the festive atmosphere, although it was a time of joy, because he had become accustomed to sadness in previous lives, he had such thoughts: Alas! This world full of afflictions! Its existence is so unstable and unpleasant. Even this splendor of the Kumuda flowers will eventually become a memory. For people living in such circumstances, it is amazing that they are fearless! All the paths are blocked by the Lord of Death, yet they enjoy themselves without any concern. Aging, old age, and death, these harmful enemies, although powerful and unstoppable, still exist. If the next life is destined to go to suffering, then who would feel happy about this? Huge clouds, flashing lightning like golden chains, making sounds like the great ocean. They create the spectacle of torrential rain, gathering together, but eventually they will also dissipate. The rushing water, with its powerful force, uproots the roots of trees deeply embedded in the banks, and that water will gradually dry up.

Like the torment of sorrow, the power of the wind can also destroy the mountaintop, and the collection of clouds is also destroyed by the fierce force, and the water in the sea is also stirred and churned. Even such wind will completely calm down. The flames are burning fiercely, and sparks are splashing, and the beauty of the forest and the grass are all burned, and such fire will gradually calm down, even if it burns fiercely, it will disappear afterwards. What aggregation has not been separated? What prosperity has not declined? The continuum of beings shakes violently, and those who have not observed will be happy. The great self, because that sad heart observes in this way, uses great joy to recover the mind-wandering thoughts. The solemn palace is decorated with ornaments, and it looks very happy. For the many people gathered, the heart is not attached, but returns, and finally returns to its own position, and thinks to himself: The heart is very tired of the happiness of enjoyment, because there is no attachment, so it is thought that only the Dharma can be taken as refuge, so he is determined to practice. Once, he went to the king and prayed with his palms together to go to the forest of asceticism: Relying on renunciation, please bring me benefits, please measure my mind, and please grant my request. The king, because he loved his son, after hearing those words, was like an elephant severely hit by a poisonous arrow, like a deep sea being blown by the wind, his sorrow tormented his heart, causing him to slump and tremble. Then, in order to stop that, the king embraced his neck with love and tears: My only son, why, how did the thought of abandoning us suddenly arise? Who is making you destroy yourself? Who is making you unhappy and binding you? Who is making his own people suffer from sorrow and their eyes filled with tears? Or, even if you hear something that makes me a little suspicious or confused, say it, and I will stop it, I have not seen such a thing. The Bodhisattva said: How can there be confusion for someone as loving as you? Nor does anyone make me unhappy,
