Therefore, this body is the abode of hundreds of diseases, full of suffering and misfortune. I shall become the vessel to deliver them from these poverties. By being born in a human body, one obtains the bliss of heaven and liberation. For those who can transform in this way, the opportunity to be of help is also very rare. My sphere of activity has become their dwelling place, and having such guests is also due to accumulated merit. Because they are impoverished and unfortunate due to separation from loved ones, I should especially protect them. This thing called the body is truly meaningless, a place full of much suffering for a long time, and always the source of many afflictions due to illness. If it can benefit others, it should be used well. Then, some of them, weakened by the suffering of hunger, thirst, fatigue, and heat, joined their palms, their eyes filled with tears, and while prostrating, begged for water with gestures of poverty: We are helpless, you are our protector! You are our refuge and support! Please protect us to the best of your ability, according to our respective great merits! Some said this with compassionate voices. Others, with firm determination, inquired about the location of water and the path to cross the difficult and desolate wilderness: Whether it is a lake or a cool river, wherever there is a cool spring, whether it is a round shady tree or a cool green tree, please, lord of elephants, show me the way! From this desolate place, where can one attain liberation? Please, with your compassionate heart, point out the direction, that would be best! We have wandered in the desolate wilderness for a long time, please, friend, save us from it! After saying these words, that great being, because those people prayed with compassionate voices, his heart became very soft, and in order to show them a mountain path that could lead to liberation from the desolate wilderness, he stretched out his huge head like an elephant's trunk and said: At the foot of this mountain, there is a huge lake, adorned with lotus and utpala flowers, filled with clear water. Therefore, go from this path, and there, fully quench your heat and thirst, and get some rest. Not far from there, there is the carcass of an elephant that fell from that mountain.

Wearing beautiful headdresses, they bowed with their heads, prostrating and making offerings to him. Some people used the wind that stirs up the ocean waves, carrying the fragrance of flowers, to fan him, while others covered him like thick clouds. Some people devoutly offered him.
