Whoever, with stones and clubs, Strikes us, these travelers, Surely, in the previous life, not having restrained well, Hitting many people. Whoever, to the people of the world, From all aspects, scolding, Surely, in the previous life, to the person of the lama, Having reviled. Whoever, suffering the pain of contempt, Obtaining an extremely unbearable result, Surely, in the previous life, to the person of the lama, Having despised. The beggar in the previous life, Suddenly arriving but not giving clothes, Therefore, now the beggar is without clothes. Whoever, separated from relatives and friends, The beggar suffers for a long time, Causing many lepers to emit smoky, Sounds of wailing. Whoever, on the ground covered with gravel and stones, The beggar lies down, Covering with various clothes, Did not give bedding in the previous life. The mattresses are of various kinds, Not having given to the holy ones, Therefore, that person dwells, On the ground covered with many thorns. In this ocean of samsara, That which eliminates all diseases, In the past, medicine was not given, Who makes him manifestly afflicted by disease? Not bathing the father, nor the mother and friends, Not satisfying the lama, nor the protector of the world, Who makes him born from bathing and freedom from suffering, And now deprived of fortune by a hundred sufferings, becoming helpless? Exhausted by hunger and thirst, Naked and without clothes, Tormented by disease and suffering, Who will raise this orphan? In the world, it is difficult to find, Who makes him lose his life, Whose servant is the orphan, Whose work does he do today? Alas, poverty is suffering! Alas, not accumulating merit! Even in this prosperous city, It is just like a helpless orphan. This and others, also the wife of the caravan leader, extremely tormented by hunger, lamenting in her heart, alone. The caravan leader, Rna-can, also had a shipwreck in the great ocean, accidentally grabbed a plank, and together with a child, escaped from the water, begging in extreme distress, and went to the king's palace, Mnyan-ldan (Shravasti, India today).
