The Sanghas knew that they had passed away peacefully, so they fully offered clean and blessed food and drink from their own hands. When he knew that the Sangha of monks had enjoyed it, he covered the bowl, packed it up, and wanted to offer hundreds and thousands of robes, looking at those monks and Sangha, and great joy arose in his heart. The golden monk knew his thoughts and said: Father, please do not be discouraged. I will offer three golden robes to the Sangha of monks. Then, the golden monk took off a golden robe from his own body, three robes worth one million taels of gold, and offered them to thirty million monks in order of seniority. During that time, hundreds and thousands of gods made noisy sounds, played various musical instruments, and rained down heavenly flowers, powders, and clothes. Just as the crowds of people gathered from all directions to that place, as well as King Ajatasatru, the Queen, the young men, the ministers, the city dwellers, and all the people, seeing such a wonderful sight, were amazed and opened their eyes wide, repeating three times: Alas, this is the ripening of the fruit of merit! Alas, this is the power of merit! Alas, if it is not the ripening of planting the seeds of charity in the field of giving, then which wise person, after witnessing the ripening of such a fruit of merit, would not give to the field of giving? In this way, hundreds and thousands of beings joined their palms and said in a loud voice: We prostrate to the Buddha! Then, Venerable Ananda declared the excellence of giving. Then, the caravan leader Sun rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, knelt on both knees, joined his palms towards where Venerable Ananda was, prostrated, and repeated three times: Venerable, please

This, composed by the noble Ānanda, was not done by the mother, nor by the father, nor by the king, nor by the gods. It was not done by the pleasing assembly of family and relatives, nor by those who have passed away before. From the drying up of the ocean of blood and tears, it has been worshipped by gods and demigods. Completely free from the faults of birth, old age, and death, delightful to see in hundreds of thousands of existences, O Sage, you have not abandoned me; now I have obtained the fruit. Then, the venerable Ānanda truly taught those retinues, including the king, the words that accord with the Dharma, and caused them to truly receive it, truly praised it, and truly made them rejoice. Then, those hundreds of thousands of gods, and the hundreds of thousands of beings dwelling in the royal palace, prostrated and rose from their seats and departed. Thus, even doing a little something for the Blessed One, the Buddha, will turn into a great fruit. The Jataka of Golden Hue is complete.
