It is manifestly taken from the place where it is permissible to obtain. What is it? It is added to words such as "to be done." "With transgression" means with fault. The meaning here is that if a certain bhikshu recites the ritual as described above, and having received the giving of what should be done and what should be eaten, then eats it, then he has no transgression, this is known. However, the Blessed One said that he was with transgression, if you have the ability to clearly understand the Vinaya here, then please answer me. This is the meaning (of the question). The answer to this is this: Similarly, this was said with the intention of thinking it was someone else's. Similarly, here (the rule) is: Venerable, if a bhikshu receives what should be done, will he be with transgression after eating it? Near one, if he eats after receiving it with the thought that it is someone else's. Or, this was said with the intention of storing what should not be given, eating it at the wrong time. Similarly, here (the rule) is: Venerable, will a bhikshu have four transgressions one after another when eating again and again? Near one, if he eats what should not be given without giving it, storing it and eating it at the wrong time. In "bhikshu to bhikshu" etc., "with afflicted mind" means with a mind that is in accordance with affliction. "Answer me clearly" means to speak definitively. The meaning here is that when a bhikshu angrily strikes a bhikshu, without a doubt, he will commit a transgression of falling, this is known. However, it should be said that the Blessed One said it was an evil deed. This is the meaning (of the question). The answer to this is this: This was said with the intention of driving away and so on. Similarly, here (the rule) is: Venerable, a bhikshu striking a bhikshu will not commit a transgression of falling, is that so? Near one, if he strikes with the intention of driving away or killing. Or, this was said with the intention of striking for the sake of others.

Likewise, here the text is: If a monk hits a monk for the sake of another, what happens? Answer: It is the offense of "Dukata" (Tibetan: ཉེས་བྱས་སུའོ་). Or, considering causing another to hit, that is why it was said. Likewise, here the text is: If a monk causes another to hit a monk, what happens? Answer: It is the offense of "Dukata" (Tibetan: ཉེས་བྱས་སུའོ་). Or, considering that the monk is insane, that is why it was said. Likewise, here the text is: If a monk hits an insane monk, what happens? Answer: It is "Dukata" (Tibetan: ཉེས་བྱས་སུའོ།). Similarly, if one hits a monk who is mentally disturbed, a monk afflicted by feelings, a foolish monk, a deaf monk, a monk deluded by sleep, a drunk monk, a monk in meditative absorption, or a monk in another state, what happens? Answer: It is the offense of "Dukata" (Tibetan: ཉེས་བྱས་སུའོ་). Or, considering past defeats and so on, that is why it was said, as before. "The one diligent in discipline touching fire," and so on, means: Please tell me for certain, why did the All-Knowing One say that touching fire is an offense of Dukata? Connect this to that. "Touching fire" means taking fire. Saying "touching" also includes contact. Furthermore, it occurs that if a monk, wishing not to be sick, touches or causes another to touch fire for his own sake. The All-Knowing One knows all the characteristics of things to be accepted or rejected, whether past, future, or present, along with all the methods, as clearly as an amalaka fruit in the palm of one's hand. "Endowed with compassion" means endowed with great compassion. The meaning here is: When a monk touches or causes another to touch fire, will he then commit an offense of downfall? That is indeed certain. However, the Blessed One said it is a Dukata, what is that like, please tell me. The answer is: It was said considering touching for the benefit of others. Likewise, here the text is: If a monk touches someone who has entered another state, what happens? Answer: Dukata.
