The so-called "before..." etc., where the word "before" means directly understanding its meaning. The reason for mentioning "expression" is: Through false words and changing understanding, the meaning of the words can be clearly understood. Because the scriptures say that the unexpressed "next to..." is explained as mean. The so-called "Buddha" is because he clearly knows the past, future, and present events like an amalaka fruit in the palm of his hand. The so-called "Arhat" is because he has conquered the enemy of afflictions, is worthy of the offerings of all beings, and has the nature of non-birth. The so-called "Teacher" is because he clearly indicates beneficial and unbeneficial things. The so-called "strive for meaning" is "entrust". Therefore, the meaning of the words is: When a monk says "I am the Buddha", "I am the Arhat", "I am the Teacher" in front of the expression, if he is not caught by the devil, he will be defeated. However, the Blessed One said in some ways that he would not be defeated by this, what is that like? Please tell me the truth. The answer to this is: This is because he relies on homonyms with different meanings. Similarly, here the scripture is: Venerable, what will happen if a monk says, "I am the Buddha"? If he thinks of understanding and realizing sinful and unwholesome dharmas and prophesies, he will commit a serious offense. However, if he prophesies that there is no Dharma of the Buddha, he will fall. Venerable, what will happen if a monk says, "I am the Teacher"? If he thinks, "I am guiding, I am instructing," and says so, he will commit a serious offense. However, if he prophesies the Dharma of the Teacher, he will fall. Venerable, what will happen if a monk says, "I am not learning"? If he prophesies that he has abandoned afflictions, he will fall. However, if he thinks, "I am not learning any skills," and says so, he will commit a serious offense. That's it.

Moreover, because it can be done, if one speaks of the meaning that matches the name with the intention of speaking of the lama, it is said to be a gross offense. Or, that was said with regard to the first karmic agent, the madman, the mentally disturbed, and those threatened by feelings, or it was said with regard to speaking in the presence of non-human beings. Similarly, here the scripture is: Venerable one, if a monk, with the thought of being non-human, declares the superior human dharma, what will happen? It is a gross offense, and so on. Or, it is based on speaking in the presence of a madman and a mentally disturbed person. Similarly, here the scripture is: Venerable one, if a monk speaks the superior human dharma in the presence of a madman, what will happen? It is a gross offense. For the mentally disturbed and so on, it should be viewed in the same way. Or, it should be known that it was said based on speaking the language of the border area to the people of the central area. Similarly, here the scripture is: Venerable one, if a monk from the central area speaks the superior human dharma in the language of the border area, and the people of the central area do not understand the language of the border area, what will happen? It is a gross offense, and so on. For this, the source of the sutra is also not arranged in order. For the loss of the idea of being able to understand words, then the offenses from defeat downwards will not occur. For human beings, it is the very act of naming. It is not the loss of nature. For manifestation, it is said that the meaning is understood. Or, it was said with regard to having previously committed defeat and so on, similarly, the scripture is as previously stated. Or, it is dependent on arrogance, here the scripture is: Venerable one, if a monk himself has and possesses the superior human dharma, then saying it will lead to defeat, however, if he himself has the superior human dharma but does not possess it, then saying it will not lead to the offense of defeat, is that so? The Blessed One said: Yes, if one declares false knowledge, it will lead to defeat. If one declares omniscience with arrogance, then it will not lead to the offense of defeat. Your fruit.
