Regarding this, the other party's thought is, if a downfall occurs due to relying on a partner for impure conduct, etc., is it possible for it to happen to someone alone? Please understand this question well and then tell me. That is the question. The answer to this is: It is said that way under the premise of allowing actions related to impure conduct, etc., with a partner. Similarly, here is the scripture: Venerable, if a monk enters a monastery alone, is it possible for him to fall due to impure conduct? Yes, it is, like Long-penis and Soft-back. The meaning here is: It is not certain that being with a partner, male and female, etc., will lead to a downfall. However, it is also possible alone, like Long-penis and Soft-back. A householder's son's penis became excessively long, so his relatives named him Long-penis. Once, he renounced and joined the Buddha's teachings, then put his penis into his own excretory passage and enjoyed the sensation. Similarly, a householder's son, like a rabbit or a cat, had a soft back, so his name was named Soft-back. Once, he also renounced and joined the Tathagata's teachings, then put his penis in his mouth and enjoyed the sensation. This is explained in detail in the extensive explanation. Similarly, for this, another scripture is: Venerable, if a monk enters a temple alone, is it possible for him to commit the four downfalls? The Blessed One replied: Yes, because of impure conduct, like Long-penis and Soft-back. What about because of taking what is not given? For example, a monk prepares to steal, then enters a temple and steals something. What about because of killing? For example, a monk prepares to kill, then enters a temple and kills someone. Because of lying

What is it like? For example, a monk says, 'I am an Arhat, a Buddha.' 'Having five branches' and so on refers to the five causes for a monk to incur a defeat. Namely, taking what is not given, five coins, the intention to steal, being possessed by a human, and recognizing that it is (someone else's property), possessing and being endowed with these conditions. The reason for saying 'five branches' is that if one branch is missing, it is said to be reprehensible. 'Another's property' refers to property owned by others, such as men, women, or hermaphrodites, which excludes one's own property. 'Is' is used for distinction. 'Stealing' refers to having taken. 'To him' refers to the monk. 'That' refers to cases that do not belong to stealing another's property and leading to defeat. It should be combined with 'clearly state'. 'Clearly' means clearly. The meaning here is: If the Blessed One said that any monk who steals another's property with five branches will incur a defeat, but in some cases, it is not said to lead to defeat, please be sure to state it clearly to me. The answer to this is: That is said in the case of stealing for others. For example, even if all the branches are present, stealing for others is considered a serious offense. Similarly, the scripture here is: 'Venerable, if a monk does not speak, but steals for others, what will happen?' 'It is a serious offense.' Similarly, another passage here is: 'A monk says to a monk: 'Do you know such and such a monk's such and such utensil?' 'I know.' 'Go and steal it! Move it from one place to another!' If, with the intention of stealing, he moves the stolen object from one place to another, the action is the same. However, if he thinks, 'This is mine,' then there is no fault in taking it. As for instructing others to steal, the thing will happen as it is.' Or, it refers to the case of stealing from the Northern Bad Sound Continent.

Therefore, the treatise here says: Venerable one, what will be the result if one steals from the Northern Kuru Continent? There are no relatives nearby who take without being given. If one generates the thought of stealing there, it will become a grave offense. Likewise, the sutra also says: In Northern Kuru, there is no one who possesses anything, it is like one's own property. Or, it is said in reference to stealing from the four-way sangha. Likewise, the Vinaya here says: Venerable one, what will be the result if a bhikshu steals something not given by the four-way sangha? It will be a grave offense. Likewise, the author of the sutra also says: There is no different owner, it is like one's own property. Or, it is said in reliance on other sentient beings. Likewise, the treatise here says: If one steals something not given by a non-human with the perception of a non-human, what will be the result? It will be a minor offense. If one steals something not given by a non-human with the perception of a human, what will be the result? It will be a grave offense. Likewise, the author of the sutra also says: It is used by humans, and one generates the perception there. Or, the statement of a minor offense is said in reliance on having previously committed a defeat, etc. The treatise here is also the same as before. "Diligent in discipline," etc., "diligent in discipline" refers to a bhikshu. "Wise" refers to examining before and after, meaning intentionally thinking. "Wise" refers to giving something that has been censured. "Number exceeding" refers to a quantity exceeding five mashakas, which is a different name for hundreds of thousands of riwas, etc. "That" refers to the one diligent in discipline. "If so" is a question. "That" refers to the thing just mentioned. "Quickly" refers to quickly. "Speak" refers to speak up. Here, the thought of others is: If one steals hundreds of thousands of riwas, etc., and possesses all the limbs, then one will certainly become defeated. However, the Bhagavan has not said that this is the cause of defeat in some cases, so please speak without hindrance to me. Here,
