There is no fault in ascending to a seat adorned with jewels and the like and proclaiming the Dharma, giving alms. In the abode of yakshas and the abodes of gods, And in the abode of nagas, sparkling jewels, Even if occupied by householders, those with vows are not impure, There is no fault even if one sits in meditation. Similarly, in the house, occupied by householders, that is, in the house, on the seat occupied by householders, proclaiming the Dharma, one should sit at other times as well as when giving alms. What is the difference? Even where the radiant light of those jewels illuminates, one may sit. It will be taught that householders should sit in their homes on seats adorned with jewels and the like, with a mind of acceptance. How should one think and sit? It is said to meditate on impermanence. Meditating on impermanence is to make it manifest. Meditating that all conditioned things are impermanent, by this, subdue the mind's agitation, which is its cause, and sit in order to increase the patron's merit. Similarly, the abode of yakshas, that is, the householder, and similarly, the abode of the gods, that is, in the house, the vow-holder's attention, there is no fault in sitting. The abode of nagas, that is, sitting in the house with the same intention, there is no fault, because the nature of the earth and the steps, which are jewels, arise from their merit. "And" includes everything. In any case, this basis of learning is primarily things. If merely abandoning conceptual thought becomes a fault, even so, if one sits without the aspect of attending to impermanence, the fault will be small, and one should also understand that the aspect of attention does not exist. Now, High etc. Sleeping during the day in a direction, etc., It is said that these become faults of the mind. If one sleeps during the day, it will become belonging to the direction of a high seat, etc., because that is the meaning, therefore, sleeping during the day will become a fault of the mind, that is the conclusion. Then, how should one practice when one is overwhelmed by sleep? Become a disease of sleep

Regarding the matter of the ground, it has been stated. If sleep becomes a disease and becomes an obstacle, then it is permitted for those. The Blessed One allowed sleeping during the day, this is the remainder. As for how long? It is said "a little." The word "a little" is to be understood as, after how much time of sleep one awakens and is able to engage in virtue, it is limited to that extent. Except for the sick and the attendants, the disciplined should not sleep in the light of a lamp. Regarding the matter of "the disciplined should not sleep in the light of a lamp," that is, sleeping in the light, for places other than the light of the sun and moon, the disciplined are not allowed, this is a summary statement. Is it all not allowed? The answer is: except for the sick and the disciplined who serve the sick, other disciplined ones, this is the meaning. "And" serves to gather. It is not reasonable to sleep without a cushion. Regarding the matter of "it is not reasonable to sleep without a cushion," because one does not spread a cushion and is far from the bedding of the Sangha, therefore one should not sleep. Therefore, the bedding of the Sangha should be covered with a cushion and enjoyed. Even when enjoying, for situations where there is no covering, covering with a cushion itself is for the need to separate sitting. Moreover, here it should be understood that other than beds and low beds, because those will be damaged. Furthermore, "leather bedding is never allowed," regarding this matter, enjoying leather bedding is never allowed, if one enjoys leather bedding, one will commit the sin of an evil deed, this is a summary statement. Is it not allowed in all situations? The answer is: in the house of a layperson, only a temporary cushion is allowed. In the house of a layperson, only enjoying a temporary cushion is allowed. The word "ni" is to specifically point out that it is not in other temples etc. Saying "only" is to limit the bedding. Is it like this in all situations? In a border area, both are allowed. Regarding the matter of "in a border area, both are allowed," "border area" refers to a remote area, there, both bedding and cushions

Also given, that is to say, the Blessed One's giving is the remainder. Apart from stone seats, it is not allowed to use leather bedding in some other places, therefore the teacher Guṇavati says: In Amrāparānta and other places, leather should not be carried. Some recite: "In the city center, bedding is not leather, In remote areas, both are allowed." This seems unreasonable, because the Blessed One allows monks to fully enjoy leather cushions etc. only on stone seats, and always allows bathing, therefore it is unreasonable to recite elsewhere, I think so. The skins of cows, elephants, horses, tigers, lions, bears and cats are not allowed. The so-called cow refers to the elephant, and the horse refers to the fast-moving, the skins of these two are not allowed, therefore shoes made of the skins of these two should not be carried, and even on stone seats, bedding made of them should not be enjoyed, this is the general statement. The tone of ni means that it is not allowed in all of everything, this is to distinguish it from the previous one. Similarly, tigers and lions, bears and brown bears and cats, tigers and lions and bears and cats etc. are connected. Their skins are not allowed, etc., like the previous one, everything should be said like this. Shoes made of Balbaja and Gressema grass etc. are not allowed to be carried. The so-called Balbaja refers to a kind of grass. Gressema refers to Munja grass. Grass refers to bamboo shoot skin, which is a collection of classifications. Shoes made of these grasses are not allowed to be carried. Also, with the tone of "also", it is to explain that not only is it not allowed for the disciplined to use unsuitable leather, but also wooden shoes are not allowed. Where? It is said that the roof of the temple, the residence, the corridors, etc., that is, on the roof of the temple, that is, where there is no roof covering, and in the residence and corridors, etc., it is not allowed to enjoy. The so-called "always" means that it is not allowed in any case, therefore it means that it is not allowed anywhere. The tone of ni means that wooden shoes are never allowed on the roof of the temple
