It should be determined that even the last drop of alcohol should not be consumed. It is not only falling into sin due to intoxication, but it also shows that eating distiller's grains also leads to transgression. Eating distiller's grains is eating distiller's grains. Eating distiller's grains will cause the harm of transgression, and eating yeast is also the same. The residue of processed alcohol is distiller's grains, and the residue of mixed alcohol is yeast. If you eat these things, it is like getting drunk, and you will commit a complete transgression. Similarly, it will also cause the Vajra harm of transgression, which is the remainder of the sentence. Vajra harm is Vajra harm. The Vajra harm of mere transgression will become the Vajra harm of transgression, because just as the Vajra causes harm, the sin of transgression also causes suffering. The word 'and' is used to summarize transgression. Now it says: If pills and roots, etc., eating things that cause intoxication, will lead to a minor offense. This sentence indicates a minor offense. If a pill is eaten, then for that monk, a minor offense will be committed. The word 'ni' has the meaning of distinguishing from previous things, and can be added after 'if you eat roots, etc.' What is the difference? It is said 'can cause intoxication', if roots, etc. are things that can cause intoxication, then that is what it means. Among them, a fragment of a pill refers to something mixed with ingredients that can cause intoxication. For those things that do not have an intoxicating effect, should they be drunk? It is said: Anything that has the taste and smell of intoxication, even if it does not have an intoxicating effect, should not be drunk. To be intoxicating is to be intoxicated, even if it is determined that there is no intoxicating effect, it should not be drunk. Why shouldn't it be drunk? The answer is: Anything that has the smell and taste of intoxication, that is, in which substances there is the smell and taste of intoxication, such things, even if it is determined that they cannot cause intoxication, should not be drunk. The word 'also' means that not only things that can cause intoxication, but even if they cannot cause intoxication, should not be drunk.

This is to explain this principle. As for the particle "ni," it means "for what reason," that is, for what reason there is no intoxication, but there is smell and taste, so it should be abandoned. This is to explain this principle, and it is the meaning of observing other sequences. Regarding this point, it should also be explained that the transgression is minor. As for applying to the body, etc., it is for the sake of the remedy for illness, indicating that only the sick can do it, but others cannot. And it is said, "Applying to the body and carrying a load, except for the intoxicated and sick, do not do it." Because it is summarized that wine can be used to apply to the body and carry a load, therefore, in other cases, even for the reason of illness, it should not be drunk. If it is said that drinking intoxicating substances is a violation of the precepts, even so, except for applying to the body and carrying a load for the reason of illness, it should not be done for other purposes, because drinking for the sake of curing illness is also not allowed. Precisely for this reason, it is said, "Even a little intoxicating herb should not be drunk." This is what is meant to be expressed. As for "Has it been boiled?" etc., it is saying the exception that was mentioned earlier, that is, the boiled thing, that intoxicating substance, when it has been boiled, when it is drunk, at that time there is no transgression. As for "ཉིད(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)," it is because after boiling, the intoxicating substance has disappeared, therefore, there is no transgression in drinking it, this needs to be determined. Similarly, as for "Is it similar in color to it?" it is also said that if it is similar in color to the intoxicating substance, there is no transgression in drinking it, this needs to be supplemented. "འམ་(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)" is used to summarize. Similarly, as for "What is not deteriorated?" etc., for those that have not deteriorated and have intoxicating substances, there is no transgression in drinking them, this needs to be supplemented. The particle "འམ་(藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)" means "also." Why? Because in order to abandon the cause of intoxicating substances in this training, there is no transgression, this is a concluding word. Now, starting from "belonging to the aspect of intoxication" etc., the faults of mental karma will be explained, for example: onions, mountain garlic, and garlic belong to the intoxicating
