La. Its value is the value of the place and time, by which it should be defeated, but not by the value of other places and times. If asked: Should everything that is stolen be defeated? The answer is: Stealing the relics of the Victor based on faith is not. This is the meaning of what is said. If one steals the relics of the Victor, i.e., the Bhagavan, without faith, then one should be defeated, that is its meaning. The summary of the words has been shown, now the need for the limbs should be examined. Because if one possesses the limbs such as "another's property," it will become a marginal offense, this is what should be said. Why is "not given" mentioned? No, because when it is not given and one possesses all the other limbs such as "another's property," then it is desired to become a marginal offense. If, other than that, even if there is the intention to steal, etc., because there is no taking without being given, it is not another's property, but one's own property, therefore it will not become a marginal offense, but it will become an offense of wrong-doing. Even so, it should not be said, if asked: Because the meaning of "another's property," etc., has been said, is it not already understood as "not given"? Answer: There is no fault in this, because when it becomes another's property, and it is also given, then there is no offense, therefore it is said in order to distinguish it. If asked: How does giving become stealing? Answer: Because one does not know that it is giving, so it should be understood in this way. If asked: Why does stealing another's property become an offense, and why is "complete value" mentioned? Answer: Because other than that, if it is merely not given by another, then stealing complete or incomplete will become what is called marginal, but that is not desired either. Rather, it is when the value is complete, but if it is incomplete, it will become an offense of wrong-doing, therefore it is good as it is said. The so-called "complete" refers to a quarter of a nanaka used in the terminology of the place and time of stealing. If asked: Why is value mentioned? It is in order to completely include clothes, etc., otherwise a quarter of a nanaka

Only stealing a portion is considered a transgression. Isn't it said that 'complete value' refers to clothes and such? Then, why mention the value of one-fourth of a 'nana'? It is said that because only value is considered, the act of stealing clothes and such is classified as a transgression; therefore, value is paramount. Thus, even if it is not explicitly stated, it will be considered well said. Why is 'another' mentioned? Because if it is said that stealing the property of another person who is not oneself becomes a root transgression, then since oneself is also a person, stealing one's own property would also be a transgression. But that is not desirable; therefore, by mentioning 'another person,' stealing one's own property becomes a lesser offense. How does one steal one's own property? Due to the delusion of thinking it is not one's own. By saying 'the same desire,' doesn't it mean that one does not desire to be stolen from by others, but rather one does not desire to be stolen from by oneself? However, even because of the desire of others, this can be understood, so what is the purpose of this statement? It is true, but that is in terms of using objects, while this refers to the owner using it, so there is no transgression. Alternatively, others may hide things in a dwelling, and even if one knows it is one's own, one may steal it because one hopes not to be seen by anyone, as there may be evil thoughts. Why is 'person' mentioned? To differentiate from animals and such, stealing from them becomes a lesser offense. By not mentioning 'person,' it includes humankind, therefore including women and men, as well as hermaphrodites and castrated individuals. Similarly, 'person' is mentioned elsewhere as well. From where is it understood that 'another person' is understood? Because what belongs to someone, that person must have definitely possessed it. Why is it said 'possessed by a person'? It is not so, even if it is the property of another person, what contradiction is there if it is not possessed by a person? If it is the property of another person, how is it not possessed by a person? For example, in the ground or other places, an object hidden by someone, or it has passed the statute of limitations, or it was hidden by one's own father and others. His son did not know.
