Etc., these are the characteristics of the four abandonments. In dreams, there are no three forms of body and four forms of speech, because dreams are merely the conceptualization of consciousness. For the activities of consciousness, one does not wish for downfall either. If someone asks, what is said here is that some dreams, like when one is not sleeping, also have activities of body and speech. Because it is considering such dreams, it is said "except for dreams," therefore there is no fault. Even so, it should not be said, because "naturally existing" itself can be understood. If someone asks, that is also true, but it is said according to worldly customs. Just as in the world, for sentient beings acting in dreams, one does not think that they are mad, mentally disturbed, or tormented by feelings. The so-called "will be destroyed" refers to the defeat of a novice monk, just like cutting off the head of a palm tree, there is no chance of rebirth later. From those cases of defeat, just like a monk, a nun, a female trainee, and a female novice are also the same, it should be understood. Then, in the Vinaya Matters, the evil person in the monastery deceives the novice monk, saying, "You have not taken full ordination, you have committed non-celibate conduct, and I will not fall because of it." The Blessed One taught, "The novice monk will commit a minor offense, and the novice nun will also be the same." How is this? There is no fault in this, all the downfalls of a novice monk are only minor offenses. That is also because of the difference in places, some will become defeats, such as killing, etc. Some will become confessions, such as drinking alcohol, etc. Also, why is it that for those who have not taken full ordination, the punishment that all will become minor offenses is established? The venerable Near-Guarded said that this is to show the difference between those who have taken full ordination and those who have not. The venerable Moon-Hidden Treasure said that this is because it is the final stage of discipline. Here also

Explanation. By the four, such as killing, the novice is lost. Like a monk, the novice also has no chance of receiving vows later. The six, such as drinking alcohol, have similar confessed offenses. If one goes beyond what is in accordance with the direction, then that offense is considered worthy of reproach. Now, let us distinguish the limbs of killing. Whoever kills with methods such as secret mantras, or by approving of secret actions, that also becomes ultimate. From secret actions, if one approves with the mind, it becomes mental. If a novice kills with methods such as secret mantras, that also becomes ultimate, that is, it becomes defeated, so it is said. The word 'methods' is mentioned as a plural because the methods are indeed many. For example, in the Vinaya, it is said that if a monk sends someone in a fearful direction with the intention to kill, and that person dies, it becomes defeated. Similarly, in the Vibhanga, things like precipices are mentioned. Here also, if an action is done for the sake of a person, and if a non-human, an animal, or another person dies, in all cases, it should be understood that the offense becomes serious solely from that act of killing. If a non-human, an animal, or another person dies, it is not that there is no transgression from that alone. It is said that the noble Near-Protected believes that the transgression occurs only from what was done to whom, and not from anything else. 'Because of approving of the act of killing.' This is also connected to 'whoever kills.' Whoever kills by explicitly approving of the act of killing, that also becomes ultimate. Here, the text is: 'Near-Protected, is it true that you caused an abortion?' 'Venerable, no.' 'However, I rejoiced in it.' 'Monks, Near-Protected has no transgression, and a monk should not rejoice in causing an abortion. If one rejoices, it becomes a serious transgression,' and so on. The word 'serious transgression' is a past tense, meaning it becomes connected to the past. Therefore, here, by body or speech
