It will be destroyed. Doing wrong is inauspicious, because it is not auspicious, so doing wrong, inauspiciousness, that will surely destroy. Therefore, do not sleep on such a bed. What are the characteristics of those two? It is said: A height exceeding one cubit is a high bed. Legs adorned with jewels and the like are a large bed. A height exceeding one cubit is a high bed, and legs made of gold and ivory and adorned with jewels are known to be a large bed. A special exception will be explained: On a high cushion adorned with the light of jewels, thinking here of the nature of the destruction of conditioned things, ascending and proclaiming the Dharma is giving, for the Sugata's Dharma is to be offered. Thinking of all conditioned things as being of the nature of destruction, the lion throne is adorned with the rays of various jewels, is very high, with a canopy, with streamers, with a footstool, ascending it and proclaiming the Dharma is to be given, for thus the Dharma of the Bhagavan is to be offered. Furthermore, even if householders give a bed adorned with the light of jewels, one should sit contemplating impermanence. In the abodes of yakshas, the homes of gods, and the abodes of nagas, there is no fault for those who strive in discipline even if they sit. If householders give cushions adorned with the light of jewels, they should sit suppressing themselves with the mind of contemplating impermanence. Likewise, even if one sits in the abodes of gods, nagas, and yakshas, there is no fault for those who strive in discipline, for it is born from their merit. This basis of training is to be done primarily with things, for it is said that from the basis of speech there is only the downfall of the body, therefore, here, taking awareness as primary, there is no general case. High and similar things are the same as sleeping. If one falls into sleep, allow it for a moment. Except for being sick and caring for the sick, the diligent one is forbidden from lying down like a lamp. It should be understood that what is similar to a high mattress is sleeping during the day. If someone falls into the sickness of sleep, those people, after waking up, should think not to sleep in the direction of virtue, and allow it for just a moment.

It is allowed to lie down on... Similarly, lying down on a lamp is also prohibited. Here, lying down refers to being overwhelmed by sleep, not prohibiting the four modes of conduct. Special contemplation is also not for serving the sick. Here, mentioning the lamp is a symbol of the light of enjoyment and adornment. Therefore, it should be known that lying down on the luminous lords of the moon and sun does not involve a downfall, because that is not something to be abandoned. Here, the main topic is not being discussed, because that training is not fully controlled. It is not appropriate to lie down without a cushion. In the center of the village, mattresses and leather are not allowed. In houses, only cushions are allowed. In remote areas, sleeping is also allowed. It is not appropriate to sit on a mattress without a cushion. Similarly, in the center of the village, mattresses and leather are not allowed. In houses, only cushions are allowed, not beds. In remote areas, both beds and cushions can be made of leather. What is meant by the center of the village or a remote area? Starting from the base of the leather, near the east, there is a village called Nalikara Sinpe. Beyond that, there is a dense forest called Nalikara, which is the boundary. Beyond that is a remote area. In the south, there is a river called Dambu Mangagyi, which is the boundary. Beyond that is a remote area. In the west, there is the Brahmin city of Kawa, near the two pillars of Kawa, which is the boundary. Beyond that is a remote area. In the north, there is Mount Ushira, which is the boundary. Beyond that is a remote area, so it is said. The skins of elephants, horses, tigers, lions, monkeys, and cats are not allowed. Things made from saliva, shoes, wool, Baja and Munja's drippings, and things made from grass, etc., should also not be carried.

One should not wear items made of untanned leather and raw hides. In temples, i.e., residences and courtyards, wooden shoes are not always allowed. In the direction of the toilet and urination rooms, and inside the house, there is no fault if it is not laid out. Wooden slippers, without coverings, are not allowed in any way in residences and courtyards. The absence of coverings is on top of the temple. In the direction of the toilet and urination rooms, and inside the house, there is no fault, even if it is not laid out there. If it is laid out, there will be a fault. Some say that even in the temple, there is no fault if it is not laid out. A leper should avoid the monks' beds, etc. Gathering with the monks, etc., is also the same. The monks should place that leper in a secluded place and care for him with medical treatment. The caregiver should also realize that it is difficult to obtain even a single day of life for all patients who abide by the Buddha's teachings, and should care for them with prescribed faults, except for natural faults. Here, the scripture is from miscellaneous sources. The monk, the Blessed One, said to care for the sick, with what kind of implements should it be done? The attendant said that it should be done with other implements except for natural faults. In the explanation of the novice precepts, it says to abandon high beds, etc., which completes the eighth training. Starting from the first light of dawn in one's own region, etc., until noon, this is the time. After that time, if one eats during the allowed time, one will commit a fault and eat food of iron balls.
