No. The same is widely true for nuns who nurse the sick, as well as female students and female novices. As it says in the Vinaya Sutra, "That is not an unsuitable thing for the dead." What is suitable here is the same name. If there are only those with different names, then that alone belongs to (the deceased). This should be understood in terms of meaning. If I die after taking out a loan, then at that time it should be repaid only from my property, not from elsewhere. After the manager borrows for the sake of the Sangha, he writes it down and examines it, and measures (repayment) from the Sangha. If the manager borrows for the sake of the Sangha and then dies, examine the written document and measure (repayment) only from the Sangha. Whoever are the petitioners, the first, and the last, those have the clothes of the dead. Those who are the petitioners, the first, and the last, those who are diligent in discipline, if they are close, then only they have the right to those possessions of the dead, but other diligent practitioners do not. So, from the basis of clothing, there are five reasons for distributing the gains of Dharma robes. What are the five? Ghandi, the third lineage, prostrating to the stupa, displaying the precepts, and the fifth is prayer. What does it mean to say that? Because it is shown in the state of being at the end, there is no fault. Or, because the word "prayer" and the word "and" have been used to summarize, the wishes of Ghandi and others are also fulfilled. If that is the case, if it is Ghandi and so on, then it is not close; if it is prayer, then even if it is not close, can one get a share? Because it is the desire itself, there is no fault, so it is said. The doctrine of the first and the last is, if there is no busyness or prayer of the Sangha where the monks are, then how should the belongings of the dead be distributed there? It should be distributed by the close relatives as the first and the last. Because the monks did not know what the first and the last were, the Blessed One said: Sell an item and give a small portion of it to the elders of the Sangha and the young people of the Sangha, and then distribute it as they wish, and do not regret it. If there is no prayer, or if there is no first and last, then the gains from the belongings of the dead belong to all the disciples of the Buddha.

It is said that it belongs to those who have the right to distribute. So, if the beginning and the end are not done, and no report is made, how should the property be distributed? Answer: It should be said that other monks will come and redistribute it later. For example, in the "Cloth Matter," in Shravasti, the belongings of the deceased Near-Joy were distributed. When the monks of the local Sangha heard this, they said, "We practice Brahmacharya like the venerable Near-Joy, so we should also have a share." From then on, they redistributed it together with them. Others say that redistribution refers to the situation where the giving has not been completed, but not if it has been completed. This statement is unreasonable because there is no basis, and it is clearly stated that it should be distributed, and because it is said that all the Buddha's disciples have a share without reporting and beginning and ending. If it is said, "Donate after my death," if the one who upholds vows dies, it should be distributed, because the one who upholds vows has no attachments such as sons. Giving with attachment is not giving. If it is said, "Give to someone after my death," if the one who upholds vows dies, it should not be given, but only distributed. Why? Because giving with attachment is not giving, and the one who upholds vows has no attachments such as sons. Here the scripture says, as in the "Cloth Matter," if the monks do not give when they are alive, let alone give when they are dead. The giving of "Give to someone after my death" does not exist, it should be taken and distributed. In the "Miscellaneous Matters" it is also said: If a foolish person does not give when he is alive, what will he give when he is dead? For example, giving like "after my death" does not exist. Why mention the one who upholds vows? Because lay people have attachments such as sons, so there is giving with attachment, which is to fully explain this point. Similarly, in the "Miscellaneous Matters" it is said, monks, lay people have death with attachment, and renunciants have no attachment, so for lay people, there is giving of "after my death."
