Da. If the elephant is fat, that is one aspect. Those that appear as resin or other bones should be regarded as different aspects. Similarly, the rice of the same color in the pit, and the grass spread out and glued together, becoming one entity, is also only one aspect. For other things, too, one should judge according to what is appropriate. If one steals gold or silver that has been treated, it should be considered that one is stealing the essence that has been treated. If one steals gold or silver after treating it with medicine, then only the value of the treated essence should be calculated, not the untreated. Killing itself is never stealing, it is shown that it is only the act of stealing. If one steals after slaughtering sheep, etc., then the value at that time should be calculated. It is shown that killing is only the act of stealing. Therefore, the object to be stolen is one, and the basis is one, and how the essence of the object to be stolen is, so it should be explained. The object to be stolen is one, which has been explained by "from the root continuously" and so on. The basis is one, which has been explained by "likewise, here the color remains unified" and so on. The nature of the object to be stolen has also been explained by "gold and silver are treated" and so on. Now, the detailed classification of owners will be explained. The owner of property, whether human or animal, if it is uncertain, it should be determined by the thing itself. If the owners are human, or if it is uncertain whether they are non-human, if there is doubt, it should be treated as certain. This shows that one should distinguish from the thing itself. If thieves rob robes, goods, etc., if there is no expectation for them, then it does not belong to the owner. Therefore, if one forcibly takes it back from the thief, it becomes an offense. For those who have not given up the thought, there is no fault. If thieves rob robes, etc., then for those who have given up in their minds, there is no need to consider it as their own. For those who have not given up in their minds, it is still their own. Therefore, if one forcibly takes it back from the thief, for those who have completely given up in their minds, it becomes an offense. For those who have not given up in their minds, there is no fault, because they still have ownership and have not separated from desire. Then, from the trivial matters, if the monks recognize their own robes and bowls

They shouted, and the robbers, frightened, dropped everything and scattered. The monks also blessed their robes and begging bowls and sat down, not knowing whether this was appropriate for them or not. The Blessed One declared: 'Do not be afraid, it belongs to whoever snatched it.' If someone says that this contradicts the scriptures, then there is no contradiction here. The meaning of the scripture is that if the owners of the property have given it up in their minds, then it belongs to whoever snatched it. How is this known? Because it is said, 'Until then, do not be without regard.' This is not without basis. Likewise, when the robbers began to plunder, the monks abandoned their robes and begging bowls without regard, and when they became impoverished, the Blessed One declared: 'As long as the robbers carry the plundered goods and the activity of trading has not ceased, until then do not be without regard.' The scriptures say that there is a reason for abandoning immediately just because one sees robbers, so it is said that this is not without basis.' If someone says this. The meaning of this is: This is merely what happened. 'Until then, do not be without regard,' this scripture is generally applicable. If this is not considered generally applicable, then when those robbers took the plundered goods and prepared to sell them in Shravasti, the monks recognized the plundered items, and the Blessed One also said: 'Until then, do not be without regard.' Then, those monks recognized the plundered items and brought those robbers near the king's palace. The Blessed One declared: 'Do not bring the robbers near the king's palace, but rather demand it by teaching the Dharma. If they do not give it, then demand it at half the price. If they still do not give it, then pay the full value and demand it.' And so on, until the end of the scripture, this is inappropriate. Because here, the phrase 'Until then, do not be without regard' is explicitly stated, and then the monks take action.
