What does anyone want? After looking, discern that share. After dividing, if he dies, that share returns to all the Sangha. Even if not divided, that share should be divided by others. That share belongs to the benefactor alone; to whomever it is offered, it is also theirs. If not given entirely, it is not appropriate for the monks. If monks are invited, and nuns are also invited, at that final feast, whatever is obtained is placed at the end of the elders, either both understand, or the benefactor desires. Material shares equally, also for all protectors. If you want to arrange wealth, nuns get two shares more than monks, and for novices who want to take full ordination, speak appropriately. Other than that, novice nuns should also receive one-third. Monks and nuns should divide shares equally. Where there are many monks and few nuns, it should not be divided equally, but by the number of each gain. The Protector of the World, in order to pacify the harm of plagues in the world, said that Buddha images should be invited to towns and so on. There, perfume should be smeared, and at the crossroads of the streets, the ground should be decorated with various flowers, making it very beautiful. Incense of sandalwood, agarwood, and camphor should be offered everywhere. Fragrance should emanate from all directions, moved by a slow and gentle breeze. The sounds of large drums, tabors, cymbals, and so on, continuously like thunder, a collection of various sounds should resound. Again and again, without ceasing, filling the expanse of the sky, numerous instruments and all kinds of clear, great festivities should be held. Various banners should also be erected, and there are five types: Garuda, lion, makara, and the supreme elephant. Great renunciates should be associated with the households of laypeople. When the Omniscient One goes to town, such things should be done. Then, sweep in front of the Buddha, with a mind joyful to see, dispelling the exhaustion of fears from nagas and yakshas, and so on. All the gains that are obtained should be sold in the Sangha. The Sangha's resident wise

If you know the value, you should estimate it. If you definitely want to buy it, then it is permissible to add a premium. Before fully measuring the value, the one who upholds vows should not enjoy it. To the Three Jewels, if someone respectfully offers a wife, etc., then one should not place a value on it; the donor should give it as they wish. Monks should not say to laypeople, 'You people, do some singing, dancing, and music.' This is not proper conduct. Regarding this matter, offerings should be displayed according to the Dharma, and when making offerings, one should say, 'Do your best to make the offerings beautiful.' For the sake of offerings, one should also not sculpt human figures, such as pegs, on stupas. There is no fault in creating images at the very beginning of construction. Butter lamps should be offered below, and those who uphold vows should not offer them above. When there are others, such as novices, one should not climb onto the objects of offering. If there are no others, the one who upholds vows should wash their feet with scented water, thinking of respectfully displaying [the offering], and then climb up themselves. One should do things like one hundred and one, one hundred and three, etc. The sides and protrusions of temples are also said to be five stories. Generally, one should make seven stories, with windows having inner ledges. In the center is the Buddha's great hall, with the door directly opposite the outer door. A nun's summer retreat house should not exceed three stories. The clean room's windows have inner ledges, and generally, one should make five stories. Images of the Buddha, stupas, and the words of the Sugata should also be written down clearly. If they become old or lost, monks should restore them. Wherever something was done before, this should be placed there in the same way; it should not be smaller than the previous image, and it is said that it should be made larger. The construction of temples should be according to the wishes of the donor. Whether large or small is fine, and the wise should combine it with utensils. One should also not step over stupas, Buddha images, shadows, or mandalas. For necessary matters, one can first recite verses of the Sugata before stepping over. When walking for alms, if someone asks the one who upholds vows about code words for the Buddha, etc., one should clearly explain it to them. Either say 'Buddha' or 'Supreme among the two-legged.'
