Do not eat alms together, nor prostrate to stupas. This is the property of the donor, it should be determined after full examination. Having put on unsewn Dharma robes, do not enter the village, if you enter, unless there is none, the bhikshu will definitely break the precepts. For those who create discord, quarrel, love to talk, are rude, want to leave and are leaving, the wise will not trust them. If a trustworthy bhikshu, even if he lives on the other side of the river, should be trusted for his Dharma robes. If you know that other bhikshus living there have passed away, the Dharma robes should be trusted again in the name of another bhikshu. This matter of trusting Dharma robes is not directed at impermanence, nor is it obvious. Likewise, for the novices, Dharma robes are not trusted. If others entrust and bless the Dharma robes, even if they die now, they must be bhikshus, and should be offered to the Sangha. At the end of the examined Dharma robes, make marks with ink, etc., and also specially identify their respective marks. Take out six items from the middle property and give them to the person taking care of the sick, and distribute the remaining deceased's belongings for the Sangha to accomplish merit. The three sewn Dharma robes, and the two upper and lower garments, as well as the scab cover, cushion, large cloth, belt, face and hand wiping cloth, these are considered to be thirteen kinds. The remaining Dharma robes and other items, these thirteen are the necessities of life. For the bhikshu's Dharma robes, the way to hold them is: they must be blessed, and other than that they must be trusted. Without an upper garment and a lower skirt, one cannot enjoy the great Dharma robe. Because one knows how to enjoy it, it should also be distributed to ordinary people. What should be changed should be changed, what should be sewn should be sewn, what should be blessed should be blessed, and what should be examined should be trusted. Blue, madder and turmeric juice, these three are allowed colors. The Dharma robes of great colors are forbidden to be changed. Caraway, madder juice and indigo, redwood juice and blue wood madder, cinnabar and saffron, these are considered to be eight great colors.
