Being friends with children, supreme single-mindedness is the same, but their differences exist in two ways. Here, too, there are various differences, said to be fourteen kinds of differences. Speaking of Dharma as non-Dharma, and speaking of non-Dharma as Dharma, Vinaya and non-Vinaya, etc., these four are spoken of. The wise who are proficient in this should know the four kinds of differences: confession and non-admonishment, transgression and action. Various disputes and no Sangha, the minds of the Sangha are different, arising from causes and so on, it is said to be caused by disputes. Falling into transgression due to universal contamination, not admonishing each other, that which arises from disputes is called non-admonishment. Separated by body, speech, and mind, thus one and two separately, and the three kinds of transgressions, are only spoken of in part. If in one room, a monk and a woman, if they sleep together unknowingly, three nights without having received full ordination, this one place is a fault of the body. If for women, etc., with five or six sentences, when teaching the Dharma, if without thinking, one speaks too many words, it is said to be a fault of speech. If asked about the time of the retreat, etc., knowing there is a fault but not speaking, such a transgression of the mind, the wise know it is a sin of wrongdoing. The two, body and mind, are connected, thus thinking of killing, taking what is not given, and drinking alcohol, etc., it is also permissible to rely on the fault. Thus thinking and speaking five or six sentences, it is said to be too many words. The fault arising from speech and mind, it is also permissible to lie, etc. If thinking of striking, having spoken, and striking a sentient being, this is a fault of the three actions of body, speech, and mind. Towards a monk with an unwholesome mind, if a mind of transgression arises, the green grass growing on the stupa and Buddha image is being cut. How can one with a wholesome mind, wanting to make offerings to the teacher, for the sake of weaving a garland of flowers, picking flowers is not just that. If without thinking, one breaks the precepts established by the Buddha, or the internal rules of the Sangha, it is said to be an un-imputed transgression, there is never wholesome karma without transgression. If acting with proper thought, it will only become unwholesome karma. Although this is not permitted, it is spoken of incidentally because of this circumstance.
