All the explanations are related to worms. This is about abandoning pure black. This is about the downfall of abandoning the pure one, which comes from the Vinaya-vibhanga. Regarding the abandonment of parts, it is explained that if those exceed half. If a monk makes a cushion from sheep's wool, half should be from black sheep's wool, one-quarter from white sheep's wool, and one-quarter from coarse wool. If black and white exceed this proportion, it will lead to abandonment. If more coarse wool is added, there is no fault. Here, white and coarse wool are mixed in equal proportions. If a cushion is made from sheep's wool, half should be from black wool, and half from white and coarse wool, that is, black accounts for two-quarters, white accounts for one-quarter, and coarse wool also accounts for one-quarter, and it should be made in this way. The wool that grows from the sides, back, and neck belongs to the former. The wool from the sheep's ribs, sides, back, and neck is soft wool, which is called white wool. The wool from the head, legs, and belly belongs to the latter. The wool from the sheep's head, legs, and belly is called coarse wool, and these should be mixed according to the method described above. The limbs and explanations are always similar to the explanations of worms and the pure one. This is about the abandonment of two parts. This part is abandonment, which comes from the Vinaya-vibhanga. Regarding the abandonment of six things, it is explained that the length, width, and excess should be cut off. If a monk's mat has been used for six years and has become old and unusable, and it is brought to the Sangha to be redistributed for use, and it is requested to be remade, the Sangha should observe it. If it is old and unusable, allow it to be remade. If the remade mat exceeds the size in length and width, the excess should be cut off. If it is too short or too small, it should be increased. If the mat is too small or too short, it should be increased to the size that is pleasing according to either of the two sizes mentioned in the chapter on worms. If it is torn, it should be mended. If an old mat is torn and someone wants to mend it, if it can still be used, do not allow it to be remade, but mend it in this way and instruct them to use it by sewing it with thread. If it is cracked or thin, it should be filled in. If the old mat is cracked or thin, even if it is only to the extent that it can be mended or is still usable, do not allow it to be remade, but mend it with old patches and sew it back together. If it is difficult to do, allow it to be remade.

If the old cushion is too old and cannot be used even after repairing it, then let the Sangha grant permission to make a new seat cushion. If permission has not been obtained, and a monk makes a new six-year cushion, either request the Sangha, or even if requested, permission has not been obtained, or is there anything else? Even though there is an old six-year cushion, a new one is made; or I abandon the old one because I like it, or because I want a new cushion, I put the old one aside and make a new one; or before the six-year period has passed, the old cushion is made new before six years have passed; or making a cushion. If these conditions are met, making a new cushion and finishing it will result in a Patayantika offense. It is the same even if you start and prepare while still having the old one. Starting to make and prepare one new cushion, having started, and then starting to prepare to make another, is an offense. If you prepare it and finally complete it, then all actions are a Patayantika offense. As stated in the Sutra, starting to make two cushions, if the first one is not finished but the second one is, it is a Dukkhata offense. If the first and second are both finished, it is a Patayantika offense. The method of abandonment is that for what was started and prepared later, the one that was completed earlier should be abandoned. The situation is different for other ordained people. Having been a monk before, then disrobing, and then taking vows again, making a new cushion, even if a cushion was already made when one was a monk before, it is not counted as making two cushions. This is a Patayantika within six years. The Patayantika of six years, this is a Sutra that appears in the Vinaya-vibhanga. Next, explaining the Patayantika of a span, if using an old cushion, using the new cushion without patching it with the Tathagata's span. If the cushion I offered is old and I want to make a new one, if the middle of the old cushion is worn out and has holes, but the edges around the perimeter do not have holes, then sew the Tathagata's span around the edges into a square, and in order to make the new cushion stronger, sew it in the middle of the new cushion. Even though there is an old cushion, a new one is made, and if it is used without patching it with the Tathagata's span from the edge of the old cushion, it will result in a Patayantika offense. It is like that if there is one. If there is an old cushion, it should be sewn in the middle of the new cushion, and if there is no old cushion, there is no offense even if the new cushion is not sewn. It is the same even if it is only a little bit. Even though there is an old cushion, but without the Tathagata's span from the edge
