Reconciliation is a remainder. Any three women who are controlled by their husbands, after a quarrel between husband and wife, say that they will not reconcile as if severing the relationship, and if they reconcile, they commit three offenses. Throwing three stones, and the four women who dwell in such a state, after any quarrel between husband and wife, say that just as three stones are thrown in four directions, we two will not reconcile again, and will sever the relationship, and if they reconcile, it is a remainder. Any three wives who are controlled by their husbands, after a quarrel between husband and wife, say that just as stones are thrown in four directions, we two will not reconcile, and if they reconcile, they commit three offenses, one gross offense. Abandoning conduct, and the four wives who dwell in such a state, after any quarrel between husband and wife, farming and abandoning conduct, and dwelling separately, if they reconcile, it is a remainder. Any three wives who are controlled by their husbands, after a quarrel, abandon conduct, and if they reconcile, they commit three offenses, two gross offenses. Declaring not to be a wife, and the four wives who dwell in such a state, after any quarrel, severing the relationship in front of many people, and declaring not to be husband and wife, if they reconcile, it is a remainder. Any three wives who are controlled by their husbands, declaring not to be a wife, if they reconcile, they commit three offenses, three gross offenses, one remainder. Striking bells, etc. And the four wives who dwell in such a state, after any quarrel between husband and wife, the wife says that she offers her body to the image of Mur, and if they reconcile again, it is a remainder. Any three wives who are controlled by their husbands, after a quarrel, the woman strikes bells, and offers her body to the image of Mur, and if they reconcile, they commit three offenses, three gross offenses, two remainders. The commentary says that there are four gross offenses. The offenses committed are the first three of these. In the Sutra on Remainders, seven stages of severance are mentioned, and the stages are that the first three are offenses, the middle two are gross offenses, and the last two are remainders. This is said to the three women who are controlled by their husbands, and in detail, the seven that are mentioned by name are said to correspond directly. Why are the family members here not sent to the homes of the father and father-in-law? Monks come to the village and admonish the parents of the married ones, why are these married ones not sent home? If they say so, a gross offense, a married woman returns to the family, and returns to the embrace of her parents.

When coming and going and dwelling, if a Bhikshu says, "Why don't you send her to the in-laws?" it is a Sanghavasesa. If he says, "Don't take her away," it is also the same. When a woman who has been sent to her husband's house comes back and dwells in her parents' embrace, if a Bhikshu says, "How should we not take or bring this girl to her husband's house and in-laws?" it is a Sanghavasesa. The meaning of 'mediator' is to distinguish. Sanghavasesa of the mediator Sangha, the Sutra that comes from the Vinaya-vibhanga. Having acted as a mediator, one will not commit a residual offense, but will commit a Sanghavasesa, which will be explained below. Sanghavasesa refers to the matter of the womb. Among the two, if the son of a Bhikshu is in the womb, and one is male and one is female, if he says, "Let them be united as husband and wife," it is a Sanghavasesa. If there is none, or if there is no son in the womb, and if there is one son and one daughter, if he says, "Let them be united as husband and wife," it is a Sanghavasesa. The precepts and the ordained one who dwells continuously, if there is no thought of impure conduct for one who does not engage in impure conduct, or if he says that the precepts contain thoughts, it is a Sanghavasesa. If one who has no posterior root or is a hermaphrodite, whose male and female organs cannot be used, is included in it or united with others, it is a Sanghavasesa. Those who are bought and bought as slaves, and united after paying money, also commit a Sanghavasesa. If one is wealthy and has met three times before, or is bought as a wife and united after paying money, it is a Sanghavasesa. Acting as one's own mediator. Or if he says, "Give me that woman," or if he says, "Bring that woman over, let me engage in impure conduct," it is a Sanghavasesa. If he instructs someone who has already promised, it is also the same. If a man and a woman agree to engage in impure conduct, and do not meet on the agreed road, and meet and inquire at a crossroads, if the Bhikshu knows it is impure conduct and instructs, it is a Sanghavasesa. Stealing by fighting is also the same. If a wife who has been given before, or someone who has engaged in impure conduct before, is prevented by her parents from giving, and the Bhikshu says, "The parents are fighting," and makes the man steal the woman, or sends the woman to the meeting place, it is a Sanghavasesa. If he says, "Buy a certain woman as a wife," it is also the same. If a Bhikshu tells a Bhikshu, "Buy a woman with a certain name as a wife," it is also a Sanghavasesa. Committing an offense means speaking of a woman. To a Bhikshu who has no wife, if he says, "Do you not have a wife? Take a wife."
