I did not steal. If I work because I was hired, and then rely on power to not pay the wages, it is a defeat. It is not acceptable even with accommodation. If the property itself is lifted, fearing defeat, stealing it together with the base is also a defeat. Killing is not stealing. If a sentient being belonging to someone's property is killed to cover up the death, whether the value is high or low, it is the same. Killing a large non-human property, such as an animal, is also a downfall. It is not acceptable even if it is not moved from one place. Lifting something to steal it, if one side is lifted but not separated from the base, it is not a defeat. If it falls after being shaken, that is stealing. Each fence has only one wall, and an edible tree grows inside one fence. If the branches extend beyond the wall, shaking the tree to steal the fruit, causing it to fall inside one's own fence, and if the value is sufficient, it is a defeat. Shaking is when the sound "phru lu lu tsha ra ra" comes out. If a container like wine or barley breaks and the sound "phru lu lu tsa ra ra" comes out, and it enters one's own container without interruption until the end, it is not a defeat even if the value is sufficient. The item becomes common at the end. If the sound "phru lu lu" comes out like a pipe, and it is interrupted and enters one's own hand, it is a defeat if the value is sufficient. Taking repeatedly from a pile is a different theft. If something like barley is piled up, and after taking and stealing from it, the thought of stealing arises again and it is taken, if the thought of stealing arises repeatedly like this, the value of each taking is calculated, and if it is sufficient, it is a defeat. If it is not sufficient, it is a gross offense. Taking repeatedly one by one from a pile, intending to steal the entire pile but not finishing taking it, it is not a defeat even if the value of each taking is sufficient. It is a defeat if the pile is exhausted. If there are many separate items, it belongs to each part. If property belonging to many people in common is stolen, ask each owner of the property how much they have, and if one person's share is sufficient in value, it is a defeat. If it is not sufficient, each one is a gross offense, just like the owners of the property. If the property of one owner is stolen by many monks, divide it among the monks, and if one person's value is sufficient, it is a defeat. If many people desire it and each obtains it, it is stealing. If someone who wants to steal uses deception, taking whatever they obtain, deceiving and stealing like this, calculate the value of whatever each obtains. If the value is sufficient, it is a defeat. Taking without being given ends in defeat.

Belongs to writing. Taking what is not given is a root defeat. The Vinaya Sutra asked by the noble Upali. If one dies before taking what has been taken, it should be returned. When the Sangha is allocating property, if a sick Bhikshu dies, and the attendant has divided the property, before it is taken, if the patient dies, that share of property belongs to the Sangha and should be returned. It is the same when a householder offers property. The opposite is the belongings of the deceased. If one dies after the property has been divided and the attendant has taken the share, it belongs to the belongings of the deceased and the distribution of the property of the deceased. When allocating property, if it is allocated to a householder, the property should be given to that householder. The Sangha is like brothers, so even if it is stolen, it is not without an owner. If the Sangha's living utensils are put together, and one of the Bhikshus steals property from others for the sake of those Sanghas, the value should be calculated, and if the value is sufficient, he is defeated because he also belongs there. If the Sangha's living utensils are put together, and one of the Bhikshus steals the Sangha's own property for the sake of giving it to others, it is a gross offense. If the owner is not different, it is like the owner. If one donor supports two Sanghas, and there is not enough food, if one steals from one item and adds it to another because of the urgency of property, it is a gross offense. If there is a shortage without taking, and one steals after it is left over, it is not a branch of it. In a matter of being a thief, one is forcibly pulled in by a thief accomplice, originally not wanting to be a thief, but because of fear of being killed by the thief accomplice, one joins in the matter of being a thief. After going, there is no intention to steal, and no share of property is taken, there is no offense. If one wants to take the share as one's own, it is not not taking. I did not go to be a thief! Because one wants the share of the thief, one participates in the discussion, and taking the share stolen by others is also a defeat. If it belongs to that industry, it is not. Belonging to the industry of being a thief, even if one only does a little guarding, taking the share of the thief is also a defeat. Do not say that sharing together and stealing by attendants will not happen. If my disciple and attendant steal, and then forcibly take it back, it is a defeat, said Vishuda. It is a misdeed, said Vichaya Varma. Water.
