The first place to go is where the elder goes. Wherever the Sangha gathers, if they want to do things like the one hundred and one activities, it must be requested and done by the elder, and they must teach and protect the retinue and disciples, etc. These are necessary, so the beginning of going is where the elder goes. When going, those who are left behind wait. When going to a village to attend an offering feast, if the elder arrives first, and the retinue and gold arrive late and are left behind, the elder also waits for those who are left behind. They should also do the same. When going to a village to attend an offering feast, the elder is behind, and the retinue and disciples arrive first, even if they go outside, the disciples wait for the elder. If he doesn't come, don't wait too long. Wait like the end of a sutra, if the elder doesn't come, don't wait too long to stand up and wait for the elder. It is the same near the village. Like the end of a sutra, don't wait too long to stand up and wait, if the elder doesn't come, wait for the elder near the village where you are going. If you arrive there and are about to enter, it is also the same if the elder comes later. Like the end of a sutra, wait near the village, if the elder hasn't come, and you are about to enter, if you see the elder coming later, wait again. If the patron comes to invite you, say wait until the elder comes. Like the end of a sutra, wait again, if the patron comes to invite you and says please come inside, even if you see the elder coming later, say please wait until the elder comes. When washing hands, or if there is time to eat, it is also the same. Like the end of the sutras, wait, if the elder hasn't come, arrive in the village, wash hands, even if there is time to eat, wait for the elder. If not, put it on the seat. If the elder hasn't come and there is no time to eat, don't wait for the elder, sit in the elder's seat. Observe both when sitting down and outside. When the elder's retinue enters inside, and when they don't enter, even outside in front, observe for the sake of appearance. Also observe whether the disciples are scattered or not. If they are dressed improperly or wrapped improperly, remind them for the sake of beauty. Observe like the end of a sutra, if the lower garment is wrapped improperly, or the Dharma garment is not beautiful.

If there is any mistake in wearing the robes, it should be made clear through gestures and other means and corrected. If they don't understand, tell the person in charge who is present. If they still don't understand with the gestures of the "Sutra Posterior," ask one by one and have the person in charge of correcting the incorrect wearing to correct it. If it still doesn't work, do it yourself. If it doesn't succeed and is not corrected even after doing it twice like the "Sutra Posterior," call the person who is wearing it incorrectly to the elder and have him correct it himself, and do not let this matter spread among the other new monks. The elder should treat the Sangha and the new monks with dignity, and should not joke, play, or chat idly. Wherever they are, they should be taught and instructed according to the rules of the temple or monastery. If living in a monastery, the elder should teach and instruct his Sangha not to live in places where barbarians, thieves, and demons and evil spirits can cause harm. If living in a temple, the Sangha and students should also be taught and instructed about the affairs of the temple, such as managing the temple's property, cleaning, and the fields and property for drawing Buddha images. For those who come to visit, inquire about their situation and arrange bedding for them. If there are Sanghas and Bhikshus from other places who come, the elder who receives them should inquire how many monks there are in his Sangha, how many beds and residences are needed, and then tell the pre-arranged steward and bedding manager how many beds are needed. When it is time to leave, if there are Sanghas and Bhikshus who are about to depart, the following matters should be examined and handled: the direction and region to go to, making sure not to mistake the road and location; in order not to be afraid on the road, find good travel companions like merchants; inquire and understand in advance whether the place to go is safe and what the situation is like; examine whether there are beds and living supplies there; examine whether companions will be abandoned if they become ill, and then depart. The Bhikshus who are traveling together should examine whether companions will be abandoned if they become ill. The elder should examine and arrange everything like this before letting them leave. In cases where it is not allowed, remind everyone not to leave anything behind. The departure should be arranged like the "Sutra Posterior."
