Even if intention does not give rise to faith, it may exist beforehand, but if the two do not conflict, like a blurred sign, like water and milk mixed together, then give it. This is the summer saying. When the property of a monastery's village incident is settled during the summer retreat, monks are viewed as either virtuous or non-virtuous, and those incident properties belong to the side that inclines towards virtue. If it is given to the assembled sangha without distinguishing the reason, it is also acceptable. If a faithful benefactor makes an offering to both the virtuous and non-virtuous sanghas in common, then the sangha that inclines towards virtue has the right, and the non-virtuous sangha does not. That is the measure of the sangha. If a virtuous or non-virtuous sangha is invited separately by a benefactor and offered something, even if the number of monks who incline towards non-virtue is large, and the number of sanghas who incline towards virtue is small, they still have the right to the offering. If those few are abandoned, to whom will it be given? As mentioned above, if the benefactor divides the offering into portions and gives it according to the number of people, then each has the right accordingly. If it is given in common, and the non-virtuous sangha accepts it, but the virtuous sangha does not, then divide it in half. If both accept it, then both share it. If the benefactor piles up wealth or offerings in front of the virtuous and non-virtuous sanghas, the virtuous sangha has the right. If it is piled up in front of the non-virtuous sangha, the non-virtuous sangha has the right. This is for individuals, not for the sangha. The virtuous monk has not become a sangha, and the non-virtuous monk has become a sangha, if the benefactor makes an offering to both of them in common, then distribute it separately according to each person's due share. This is the object of work, that is, asking and filling the gaps. From here onwards, the division of the wheel will be explained, and the act that is different from the Dharma is the request or acceptance of precepts, therefore, that is the division of the sangha. The division of the sangha means that the four followers and the five opponents also arise from the sangha, and the divisive monk says, my precepts are better than the Buddha's precepts, whoever follows me, take this precept. The one who accepts and rejects the precepts,

Collect those who follow with the actions of exhortation and request. If someone is seen deviating from the right path, and the Sangha that inclines towards virtue also advises, "Do not create division in this way." If they are not subdued by exhorting them with three requests and four actions, then that person will become a remnant of the Sangha and will cause division. This situation of not causing division refers to the fact that there is no difference in the size of the Sangha, and that even if there are no others and the size of the Sangha within the boundary is not sufficient when making a division. Within the Sangha of one boundary, from the Sangha that inclines towards virtue, there are four, and if they also follow those who incline towards non-virtue, then including oneself, there are five. From the abiding Sangha, if one person sees (the error) first, it will cause division. If a non-virtuous Bhikshu also has three friends, including himself, there are four, it will not cause division. Even if the number of those who incline towards virtue is not sufficient for the size of the Sangha, it will not cause division. The one who causes division is not a single individual. If one observes separately virtue and non-virtue, if there are four on the side of virtue and four on the side of non-virtue, and on top of that, adding oneself who observes from the side of non-virtue, if there are nine in total, it will cause division. Regarding Dharma and non-Dharma, if its nature is not disturbed by spirits, then it is an uninterrupted crime. Whichever Bhikshu it may be, when Devadatta previously caused division. Some Bhikshus asked, "Is Devadatta able to cause division in the Sangha?" The Buddha replied, "Previously, I was also caused to be divided by Devadatta, and on top of blisters forming on the palm, friends also stood in the Sangha, so it is possible to cause division." Devadatta said, "Seeing that the Buddha said this, I have upheld the five higher precepts, so I am able to cause division." If this is done, it will become an uninterrupted crime. Even if it is considered the true Dharma, separation will still occur. Devadatta recited everything as empty in a voice, emitted from sorrow, there is one happy person, if two people recite the three happy Dharmas with their mouths, the happy person says, "I alone incline towards the Dharma of the three realms," if division is created in this way, it will cause division. This is the object of Samsara and Nirvana. From here onwards, the objects of dispute are explained. Because of the four disputes, the Sangha will quarrel for four reasons, which will be explained below. Regarding things, like that, reversing and abandoning, along with downfall, not giving the collection of actions. Like these things spoken by name, one person suppresses another, by four Bhikshus.
