If it is given, there is no fault in eating it together with that. Just as it is submerged there, if others invite and sit, and after that person allows it, others may give it. If one patron invites the entire Sangha, and when eating food at that patron's place, another patron says that he wants to offer some gifts to the Sangha, if the patron who invited earlier says to offer, then there is no fault in offering. If he says it is not allowed to offer, then do not offer. The combination of sounds is in the manner of the meaning that is thought of, not the famous one. If some faithful patrons say to a monk, "Buddha, I offer to you," then if you do not think of your own happiness and harm in your mind, there is no fault in accepting the offering. After accepting, do not give it away. For all offerings and so on, first examine whether you are considering or not considering, and after accepting, do not give it away again. Views, etc., if a monk accepts offerings from a view of virtue and gives them to a heretical view, it is a fault because it will become a burden on oneself. Having taken from one who possesses discipline, if a monk takes offerings from one who possesses discipline and gives them to one who does not possess discipline, such as one who has been defeated, it is a fault on top of becoming a debt. Others give in sequence, and according to the sequence behind the Sutra, if one takes offerings from one who possesses discipline and a monk's view of virtue and gives them to one who does not possess discipline and a heretical view, it will not become the merit of the faithful patron, so it is said to be a fault on top of the monk becoming a debt. If you take more than you should eat in small amounts, it is wasting the offering of faith. If some faithful patrons invite a monk as a guest, and if they offer not a few kinds of food and so on, if you only take the amount that fills you up, and in the future you take it and make leftovers and so on, it is said that you have wasted the patron's food and committed a fault. If you only take about a hundred portions, and you are not full, then there is no fault in adding more later and eating. Parents, the sick, those who wish to become ordained, pregnant women, those who wish to be tamed, those who touch food, and householders who come, should also be given a share from that. If a monk takes alms from a faithful patron and gives food to those who have no faith and those who hold heretical views.

If a mistake is made due to being in debt, if I have properly received alms, it is not a fault to divide and give these things that are named. Leave a portion of plums. When a monk eats, first cut off a portion of food and leave it. Do not dedicate the food when eating. Like in the Root Text, leave a portion of food, do not say "I give this," and do not dedicate it to someone, but it can also be given to livestock. Like in the Root Text, leave a portion of food and give it to people and livestock that you encounter. Because it has not been eaten yet, it cannot be given from the portion that is left. If a monk is to give food to others, give it before the food enters the mouth or after being full, do not give it to others while you are eating. This is not giving with faith after being invited. If a faithful patron says, "Please, monk, you alone eat these offerings and food, etc.," even if you have promised to eat only yourself, do not give it to friends or others. The remaining food in the bowl can be disposed of as you wish. If someone says, "Please eat the leftovers of my food as you wish," and then leaves. The residents give torma, and when the patron eats, give torma to the gods and spirits who protect the temple, etc. According to their thoughts, give in the morning, etc. Like in the Root Text, some give torma in the morning and some in the afternoon in the courtyard of the temple, so do not confuse morning and afternoon, give at the appropriate time. Thoughts vary. If a householder makes offerings to the guardian deity of the temple, the householder should make offerings and give torma at the time of morning and evening offerings. Mangoes from a place that has not become water cannot be eaten. Unripe mangoes cannot be eaten, and similarly, unripe apples, plums, grapes, etc., cannot be eaten. Roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, preserves, various foods, flour, meat, juice, milk, yogurt, melted butter, fish, and dried meat do not need to be inspected. These things that are named can be inspected, and there is no fault in eating and drinking them. Of these fifteen types, the first five are preserves, the middle five are foods, and the last are drinks. Soup made from the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, etc. of soma and mustard cannot be drunk.
