If there is dislike for some reason, give something of equal value. If something is used out of contempt, and then returned after use, if it is stained with filth or the color has deteriorated, if it is disliked, repair it and clean it before giving it. Even if it is repaired and given, if it is still disliked, give the value of that item instead. Take the bowl and Dharma robes. If a known and virtuous bhikshu comes, welcome him and say, "I will take the bowl and Dharma robes." Spread out a mat. After welcoming him, spread out a mat for him to sit on. Invite him to wash his feet. Wash the feet of the bhikshu who has come from afar and offer mouthwash. Provide water. Ask if he is thirsty and pour water. Prostrate. Ask his age, and if he is older, prostrate. Ask if he is comfortable. Ask if there were any afflictions on the road, and try to satisfy him as much as possible. For someone who has come from afar, satisfy him by massaging his body, applying ghee, etc. Give bedding properly. According to the seniority of the person who has come from afar, also give appropriate bedding. Go to the elder of the Sangha. The bhikshu who has come from afar goes to the elder and prostrates. The elder tells him, "Find a place to stay." If the elder thinks that the newcomer needs to find a place to stay, the elder says, "Arrange a place for this virtuous person." If he is older, say, "Give him this bedding." If the person who has come from afar does not need to settle down, also instruct to give bedding properly. Do not despise bedding without examination. The bhikshu who has come from afar should not despise bedding without examination. First examine whether there is bedding in the dwelling, and only then can it be despised if there is. If the edge of the Dharma robe is damaged, use the method of hemming. If the edge of the Dharma robe is torn or damaged, repair it by hemming. Sew it with fine thread. Hemming is done for ease of boiling and washing, so sew only to reinforce when necessary. If a corpse cloth is needed, if there is no covering, place it on wood for seven or eight days or five or six days, or have someone else wash it, and then ask all the bhikshus whether there is an owner of the corpse's belongings in the cemetery. If there is none, take it and place it on wood or a wall for seven or eight days until the unpleasant smell of the corpse disappears. After washing it clean, it can be made into clothing. If a corpse's belongings are taken by someone who is not the owner of the cemetery, it should be taken to
