Washing the Dharma robe is to wash it slowly in lukewarm water by the monk himself, rubbing it with his hands. When washing, wash it slowly with your hands. If you cannot, use your feet. If you cannot wash with your hands, there is no fault in washing with your feet. If you wash like that, the householder will also wear it. If you wash with your hands, there is no fault in letting the householder wash the Dharma robe. Otherwise, you must protect it. Letting the householder wash the Dharma robe is to watch it yourself, let them wash it openly, do not let them wash it secretly. Take away the dirt from the completely clean, completely sewn, completely dyed rag. If the tailor collects from the dirt of the rag and makes it into clothes, then wash, dye, and sew it completely, and then make it into clothes. It is not clothes that have been touched by unclean things. Collecting sewing materials is to take away things that have been touched by blood, urine, feces, etc., and do not use them. In order to make the sewing place beautiful, apply and make the color shaded. Boiling the Dharma robe is to dye it with pigment, and put it in the sun for a while.
