The method of offering property to the Sangha and using it as common property will be explained below. Items such as canes, needles, and weapons, distribute these, or weapons such as needles, canes, and knives, distribute them to the Sangha. Other things belonging to the Sangha are things to be kept, stupas, and various things to be distributed. Some of the property offered to the Sangha is kept, some is distributed separately, and some is used for stupas, combining these three. What is kept and what is distributed will be explained below. Fields, houses, and trading seasons, mattresses, blacksmith's tools, ironware, barber's tools, potter's tools, carpenter's tools, and weaver's utensils, maids and servants, remaining people, cattle, buffaloes, goats, sheep, medicines, and scriptures of the Buddha's teachings, these items mentioned by name are used and controlled by the Sangha in common, so they are not distributed but kept. What is not distributed immediately belongs to the previous category. If a layman is in debt and mortgages an item, saying, "Please take this mortgage," even so, it should be taken and kept. Large pieces of cloth, tablecloths, boots without shafts, boots with straps, mustard oil presses, bottles and pills, and other common items, these items mentioned by name are needed for immediate use and control. Other scriptures, and grammar books, referring to vyākaraṇa and grammar. Writing, and medical books are also included, as well as mortgages for immediate repayment of debts. Colors refer to dyes for dyeing clothes. Divided into two. Divided into three are rice, barley, sesame, cotton, beans, and non-superior rice, which are for food and drink. These items mentioned by name are used for offerings and enjoyment. These are items of clothing. Flatten the flat or half-flat. If the pieces of the Dharma robe are of different lengths, cut the long ones to half the length. Hold a ruler for measuring. It is not a sin to hold a ruler for measuring the pieces of cloth for sewing the kasaya. The same applies to leaf-like objects. Interlaced pieces of cloth, whether horizontal or vertical, or finally wrapped around, should be made of equal width. Hold a ruler there. Also hold a ruler for the width of the pieces of cloth. The end of this is excellent.

The large one is four fingers. The width of the folded edge and the surrounding area should be four fingers. The height of a crow is also the same. The width of the hem can also be the size of a crow's foot. The small one is one-half and one-third or the face of the thumb. The hem is as small as one-half and one-third and one span also There is no fault, this refers to the width. Do not spread cloth on the ground. When sewing a monastic robe, do not spread cloth without a lining. Spreading the cloth is for that reason. Spreading the cloth is to prevent the monastic robe from being placed on the ground. Make it square from wood or bamboo. Spreading the cloth is done diagonally from wood or bamboo. It can also be made from rattan and planks. After it is made, it is called an eyelet for the sake of tying and for the sake of the thread. Place a square cushion under the monastic robe, and finally punch holes in the square, tighten it, and sew it without fault. How big is the monastic robe? The size of the cushion under the monastic robe should be the same size as the monastic robe. Cut with a knife. It is not a fault to cut the monastic robe with a knife, and it can be carried. There is no fault in carrying a knife. Like a crow's beak or a jackdaw's feather. The shape of the knife should be like this. It is not anything other than iron. The material of the knife is made of iron. The handle is painted with color, not with patterns or close to patterns. Do not make the knife handle with patterns. Do not exceed the size of six fingers. The iron blade of the knife should not be longer than six fingers. Do not exceed eight fingers. Some Vinaya holders say that the iron blade of the knife should be about eight fingers long, and there is no fault in doing it either way. If it is smaller than four fingers, there is no need. If the iron blade of the knife is smaller than four fingers, it is not made because it is not useful. Sew after smearing with cow dung. When sewing a monastic robe, do it on the ground smeared with cow dung. If there is no cow dung, smear it temporarily. If the ground has not been smeared beforehand, smear it temporarily and then sew it. Sew it. There is no fault in the monastic robe being sewn by a bhikkhu. It can also be done with a needle. Sewing the monastic robe is done with a needle. Carry it. There is no fault in carrying a needle. Use copper, brass, bronze, and iron, etc., not other materials. The material for making needles is made of these. Some Vinaya holders say that copper or sharp iron, etc., are other materials.
