Measure straight on the ground. If you can't, pull the string. If you can't walk straight on the measured path, pull the string and measure its edge. The measurement for chanting is twelve cubits. The measurement for chanting should be within twelve cubits. What is abandoned is eighteen cubits. The measurement for meditation should be within eighteen cubits. Pull the string there to do it. When measuring, wash the string. Connect it according to the size, cut it with the string, and make it straight. A monk sits and teaches the Dharma. Even if the Buddha is alive, a monk can teach the Dharma, sitting on the ground and speaking. If there are many people, one person should speak. Even if many people gather, it should not be taught by two people, but by one person. Anyone can do it. The Dharma should be taught by someone who is proficient. It is also not allowed without being invited. If I am not invited to teach the Dharma, I will speak briefly. Should not teach the Dharma. If it comes for that purpose, it doesn't matter. There is no fault in being invited to teach the Dharma and then teaching the Dharma to the benefactor after teaching the Dharma. Cannot become a group. If many people gather together, divide them into many groups, and do not let one person's voice be heard by another. Cannot become half a group. If many people gather together, one person starts from the beginning and one person starts from the end, do not let one person's voice be heard by another, speak inaudibly. Neither of those two is allowed. Set up a Dharma seat, and two Dharma teachers cannot speak and teach together at the same time. Said by the elders. The Dharma is taught by elders, those who are proficient in the Dharma, and those who are virtuous. If there are many people, put two or three seats. If there are many elderly people, but there are no people who are proficient in teaching the Dharma, if there are people who are proficient in teaching the Dharma among those of low status, promote his status, put two or three seats above, and then let him teach below.

Put the following things in a copper container. Use sand or ashes. Fill the copper container with sand or soil or ashes and place it. Wash it frequently. If phlegm is left for a long time, it will turn into a living being, so wash it frequently. In the evening, give Dharma talks. In the evening, recite diligently and read the texts, the inappropriate times will be discussed below. The reason for reading in that way is that the Four-Faced Protector and the successive deities will come to the retinue of the temple, so read to generate faith and joy. On the eighth and twenty-third, the servants of the Protector and the deity will come, so read the texts. On the fourteenth and, the fourteenth and twenty-ninth, the sons of the Protector and others will come, so read the texts. On the fifteenth and thirtieth, the Protector and the deity themselves will come, so read the texts. It is not a fault if a sick person does not do these things. It is not a fault if a sick person does not come to read the Dharma and scriptures in the evening of the six times. It is not a fault if you do not read. When exhorting for the sake of explaining, do not refuse. When it is your turn to recite the Dharma scriptures in the evening, listen to whoever arranges it. Ask for advice on exhortations for those who cannot do it, etc. If you are someone who cannot recite or read, if you are arranged, tell the person who arranged it that you cannot do it yourself, find a replacement. If there is no explanation, recite and explain in order. If you do not know many scriptures or cannot recite many, recite all the little that you know in order, and read it repeatedly. In the end, even if it is just one verse. If you know very few scriptures, then recite one verse at a time in turn. In order to last a long time in the evening and spend the night, repeat that verse many times. Light a lamp there. It is also okay to light a lamp for reciting the Dharma scriptures in the evening. It is also okay to spread many lamps and light them when the Protector appears with great light. Make a Dharma talk like a half-moon or a pond, on the side. The rule for giving Dharma talks is like a half-moon or a pond, in order to go to a place that is not your own, abandon the order of the ranks and sit on the side. If you give a Dharma talk without a cloak, you should put on a cloak. If you give a Dharma talk without a cloak, you should put on a cloak made of cloth, etc. If it is windy or rainy, sit down. If it is windy or rainy, stop giving Dharma talks on the open ground and putting on a cloak.
