After entering the path, if some monks obtain worn-out clothes, they do not wear them alone, but everyone uses them together. If a friend is a monk or ascetic, it is given starting from the elder. The old clothes that are commonly used are worn by the elder monks, whatever they get, until all the ascetics get them. If they cannot all get them, then starting from the last one, they get as much as they can, and there is no fault. If it is not torn, one cannot walk around wearing it. If the upper garment is given for common use, one cannot walk around wearing it alone. Piling things on top of it is because after inviting, one wants to accumulate merit, so the offerings that are not completely cut are regarded as impermanent and piled up. Because the patron wants to accumulate merit out of faith, they decorate and lay out mats and utensils, etc., good wealth, and offerings that are not completely cut, etc., and after inviting, they think that these wealth are impermanent and will be destroyed, and because using these impermanent things, merit will become permanent, so using them with this thought is not a fault. This is about the handling of undyed clothes. Wearing clothes that have not changed color, the offense of falling is completed. Now, the offense of precious jewels will be explained: Touching or allowing to be touched will also offend precious jewels that do not belong to oneself. For gems and items made of gold and silver, etc., that do not belong to oneself, if one takes them oneself or allows others to take them, one will commit an offense. Belonging to precious jewels is also the same. If one takes something that belongs to precious jewels, one will commit an offense. What belongs to precious jewels? These are the sutras that will be explained below. These are weapons, used for war, or also used for musical instruments. Belonging to precious jewels refers to weapons, tools used for fighting in war, and musical instruments, etc., and touching any of them will commit an offense. Because of need, if it is determined to be needed, it is a root offense. The parts of weapons and musical instruments that appear in the following sutras, if they are not damaged or separated, can be used separately, and taking them will commit an offense. If it is not determined, it is a minor offense. If the parts of weapons and musical instruments are broken or damaged and cannot be used, touching them is a minor offense. Not belonging refers to not participating in one's own affairs, without a greedy mind for wealth.
