Sleeping in the same room, even if dawn breaks, one will fall. Oh, night! Dawn breaking refers to the dawn that occurs after a night has passed, and one will fall. Furthermore, gathering! Whether one associates with an expelled monk, speaks with him, or does anything, one will fall. Except for the sake of a sick person or to distinguish views. One will not fall if an expelled monk is afflicted with illness, and one says, "It will not be interrupted," in order to heal him and not interrupt (the relationship), and if one is separated from wrong views and approaches and draws near to him in order to make him convert, there is no fault. Abandoning and dwelling! Because the monk says, "It will not be interrupted," the downfall of associating with the expelled one is complete. Explaining the downfalls of a novice: A novice who composes that word and does not abandon it is not allowed. If a novice says this: The Blessed One said, "Desire is an obstacle," and if he says, "It will not be an obstacle," then the Sangha will admonish him, saying, "Desire will be an obstacle, do not say that," and if he does not listen or abandon it, then that novice will be expelled. Upānanda's disciple, a novice, and other novices play and engage in evil deeds, slander Arhats, etc. Previously, through the four acts of request, saying "you," and then gradually requesting, saying "you are not allowed," let him go. Like this person who looks at evil deeds, first scold him, this is the second time, separately, and finally the monk admonishes. As in the latter part of the Vinaya, expelling a novice refers to the Sangha performing the act of supplication and request, not summoning those who can see, sending a monk as a messenger, admonishing, saying, "Let go of the one who says it will not be an obstacle, and if you do not let go, the Sangha will expel you, the act of supplication and request has been done once." Similarly, if you do not let go, the act of expulsion, the act of supplication and request has been done twice, admonishing, saying, "Let him go." Even if admonished twice and not let go, then admonish three times, and if not let go, that novice will be expelled. If he returns, do not continue further. As in the latter part of the Vinaya, admonishing once, twice, or up to three times, if he lets go, then the subsequent admonishment does not need to be done, nor does expulsion need to be done. Because it is not allowed.

It is for the ascetic (Dge sbyong). As explained later, after being admonished three times, the ascetic who was expelled without being released, associating and interacting with him will result in a downfall. The downfall occurs when, as explained later, associating with an expelled monk leads to a downfall, all these words belong to this branch and are similar to it. This is a summary of what should not be done. The downfall of associating with an expelled ascetic is complete. Next, the downfall of changing color will be explained. Blue, dyed with madder, also dyed with alkali and red soil, or dyed with mud. Dyed with bark, roots of trees and shrubs, tree bark, flowers, and leaves. Except for clothes that I have not dyed myself. These clothes that have been changed in color and dyed in various ways, if they can be worn, but are worn without changing color, will result in a downfall. Finally, all utensils such as the lid of the bowl, handkerchief, clothes for the feet, girdle, and underwear. If new clothes are made, or a new piece of cloth is newly obtained, or an old piece of cloth is bought or given, and newly obtained, even if it is small, such as the lid of the bowl and the belt, etc., whatever is mentioned by name, if worn, will result in a downfall. If other Sanghas do it, there is no need to check. Whether it is dyed by a Bhikshu father, Bhikshuni, Shramanerika, male ascetic, or female ascetic, once the color has been changed, there is no need to dye it again, because they have already checked each other. It does not count if it is robbed by a householder. If a Bhikshu's clothes that have already been dyed are stolen by a thief or robbed by a householder, and then return, if the color has not faded, there is no need to dye them again, because they have already been checked. One should not wear clothes dyed with large colors. Wearing clothes dyed with large colors, no matter which one is worn, will result in a single downfall for each. The large colors are cinnabar, orpiment, indigo, madder, saffron, cochineal red, indigo, and safflower, these eight. Also, it is not like a householder's, if one wears clothes like a householder's, no matter how one wears them, it will result in a single downfall. The situation of use is when a curtain is used to cover it in a temple. The situation where there is no fault in wearing a householder's clothes is when one wears them in a place where others cannot see, covered by pillars in a temple, there is no fault. Wearing them contemptuously on the road is common.
