Whoever eats and spits it out will commit a downfall offense. If one limb has been rolled up or caused to be rolled up, that is not the case. If the owner rolls up or entrusts the monastic seat or cushion to another, there is no downfall. If it is not rolled up or entrusted, there will be a downfall offense, that is, one limb. If each limb is fully named, there will be a downfall offense unless it is entrusted to a monastic father. Entrusting the rolling up, if it is entrusted to a non-monastic novice or householder, that is not considered entrusting and there will be a downfall offense. Entrusting it to a monastic is considered entrusting. If no suspicion is found. If there is a cause for fear such as water, fire, or thieves, and one leaves without rolling it up, there is no fault. If there is no cause for fear, there will be a downfall offense, that is, one limb. Act as you do, act. If I, the owner, use the monastic seat or cushion and roll it up before leaving, and a companion comes, I should instruct them to use and sit on it before leaving. If I do not instruct them, there is a fault. If the monastic using it does not roll it up and the conditions are met, there will be a downfall offense. If a householder is using and sitting on the monastic seat or cushion, and it is eaten by rain, wind, or insects, or thrown into the sky, I should tell them not to do that. If it is not rolled up, there is a fault, as stated in the Vinaya. If two are seated together, the one who rises later should do it. If two monastics are using one seat, and one is sitting outside while the other leaves first, even if the first one does not tell them to roll it up, if the latter does not roll it up, there will be a downfall offense. There is no fault for the one who left first. If they are equal, the new one should do it. If two people are using one seat together, and they leave together, if there is a monastic present, the younger one should roll it up. If it is not rolled up, the elder commits a fault, and the younger commits a downfall offense. If they are equal, both commit a fault. Like the back of a sutra, if they use it together, both should roll it up together. If it is not rolled up, both will commit a downfall offense. Those without shame, or those who have committed a defeat, or those who are distracted from discipline, and those who are stammering, insane, or cunning. Those with grudges, those who have fought and have grudges. The elderly, those who are too old to roll up their bedding. The sick, those who are unable to roll up their bedding. Those who are not fully ordained, novices and householders, and those who have not been entrusted to them. Even if these named individuals are entrusted to roll up the bedding, it is not considered entrusting.

If one doesn't understand and possesses the limbs, one commits a downfall. Look at or take this bedding in the monastery. If I leave alone, I instruct a monastic friend, "Take care of this bedding," or "The key is here, take it," and then leave. I instruct, "Don't close the gate." If one leaves without closing the monastery door, one also instructs, "The door is not closed," and then leaves. There are three different situations: being overturned by the wind, being gradually soaked by the rain, being eaten by insects, being moistened by the rain, and the extent of being overturned by the wind is that the rain soaks from top to bottom, the insects eat from top to bottom, and the wind only overturns the end, in which case one will commit a downfall. Bedding, which is both bedding and belongs to the Sangha, is also the Sangha's bedding. Was I arranged, or did someone ask me to spread it? Did I place it? Did I spread it myself? I was asked to move it, I asked someone else to spread it. If there is no cover, then it can be done. If one's body is exposed to the uncovered sky and one doesn't cover it, one will commit a downfall. The root is the "na" at the end. Possessing the limbs and exceeding forty-nine spans or being moistened by the rain, one will commit a downfall. Combination is committing an offense. If the limbs are incomplete or have not exceeded forty-nine spans, just like that, one commits an offense. Each one is pressed down by others. Using the Sangha's bedding, while using it, a friend comes and goes, if one uses it, if I leave first, I instruct the later person, "Cover the bedding," and then leave, if one leaves without instructing, one commits an offense. The same applies to an individual. If an individual uses the bedding and leaves without covering it or instructing someone to cover it, one commits an offense. The following four are also the same. Placing a cushion under the seat, moving it, wiping and pressing it, and the absence of nails, if these four are done in the Sangha's monastery, one commits a downfall, if done in an individual's residence, one commits an offense. If there is no contact, then it is not. If the Sangha's bed, made of gold, silver, and jewels, etc., is placed in a dry place and one sits on it, if it rains, because it cannot be touched, there is no offense if one doesn't cover it. If a calamity such as thieves occurs, it is permissible to touch it in order to cover it, but it must be covered. Thus, if one spreads it out for alms and sits down, if wind and rain come, one should ask the person living in the monastery to put it away. The Sangha's beddin
