If one does not closely examine and admonish, one is the perpetrator of a fundamental downfall. If it is not permissible, one commits a misdeed, which refers to: If it is placed so close, and within a distance where admonishment is not permissible, if one does not closely examine and admonish, one is the perpetrator of a misdeed. Here, the provision regarding misdeeds is that those who eat in the gatehouse should ask whether the bhikkhuni has been admonished. If they eat without asking, they will commit a misdeed. Those who eat in the gatehouse should ask whether the bhikkhuni has been admonished. If they eat without asking, they will commit a misdeed, this is what is said. Here, the fundamental provision is that some monks eat on the roof, some eat in the middle room, and if the bhikkhuni is there admonishing and sitting, then those monks should admonish that bhikkhuni. If they eat without admonishing, they will commit a sin of individual confession. Some monks eat in the lower room, some eat in the gatehouse, and if the bhikkhuni is there admonishing and sitting, then those monks should admonish that bhikkhuni. If they eat without admonishing, they will commit a sin of individual confession, these are the two provisions that are said. For this, the admonishment itself is completely based on perception, which refers to: For this, this refers to the basis of this training. The admonishment itself exists as perception-dominated, that is, it is the one who mainly acts with perception, therefore it exists by the power of perception, this is the meaning of this sentence. Therefore, one should strive to ask, which refers to: Because it is the one who mainly acts with perception, therefore one should strive to ask whether that bhikkhuni has been admonished. Here, the provision is said from the distinction, one should ask whether that bhikkhuni has been admonished. For this, if the elder does not intervene, then the younger should intervene, which refers to: For this question, the elder should intervene. If he does not intervene, then the younger should intervene. The second issue of the sin of individual confession for allowing questioning without preventing eating without following the order of seniority has been explained. Thirty-seventh chapter. Wanting to speak about the sin of individual confession for destroying the training and entering the lay life, for the faithful

If giving would lead to poverty, if it seems that way, then the precepts of a householder's training should be given. The term "faithful one" refers to a householder, and the precepts of a householder's training should be connected to this. The phrase "if giving would lead to poverty, if it seems that way" means that if giving alms would cause the faithful one to become impoverished in terms of resources. If that is the case, then the precepts of a householder's training should be given to them, because the training that relies on the household itself has become a precept and is certain, so it is a precept, meaning that one should give the precept of residing in the monastic precepts. Why? Because it is requested for that reason. This means that it is done solely through the act of requesting. It is also the same for allowing laxity, meaning that allowing laxity and breaking the precepts should also be done solely through the act of requesting. Regarding "understanding the mind of the one who has been given, going to their house, sitting on their seat, and teaching the Dharma," the term "the one who has been given" refers to the one to whom the precepts of a householder's training have been given, that is, the one who has been given. Understanding the mind of the one who has been given, one should go to their house, enjoy their seat, and also teach them the Dharma. Regarding "one should not enter with an empty bowl," this means that a monk whose bowl is empty, that is, a monk who possesses an empty bowl, should not enter the house of a householder to whom the precepts of training have been given. Regarding "one should give oil and food from alms to their children who are begging for food, but one should not give whole portions," this means that when a monk has taken alms and arrives at the house of a householder to whom the precepts of training have been given, the monk should give oil and food from their own alms to the children of the householder who are begging for food, and this is merely symbolic, and other things that should be done should also be given. One should not give whole portions of alms, because it is to avoid the fault of being criticized by other non-Buddhist non-believers. Regarding "if desired, one may allow laxity," this means that if the initial possessor desires to allow laxity, then at that time, one should allow laxity and break the precepts of a householder's training for them. To whom the training is broken and becomes a householder,
