For concealing everything other than ordination and full ordination, there is a misdeed. For concealing this Dharma, it is a downfall itself. Taking away offerings from them, as well as groundlessly slandering, and abandoning approaching the training, are also misdeeds. Listening to the disputes of monks and novices, or the disputes of those monks, is also a misdeed. Non-humans who have been ordained and fully ordained listening to disputes is also a misdeed. If novice nuns, probationary nuns, hermaphrodites, women who live by stealing, and women who have had their first intercourse sit on the main road and go to villages for alms, and take food and drink from them with their own hands and eat or consume it, it is also a misdeed. Allowing them to distribute food before they are arranged in order, and not preventing them from eating, is also a misdeed. To say that names and vows belong to one's own side means that whether male or female, names and views, vows or non-vows, will belong to one's own side. This is a synonym for being on one's own side and being of one side. Whatever belongs to one's own side, it should be understood that it becomes blameless by relying on what is in accordance with one's own side. This is what is taught: For the sake of monks and novices who are in accordance with one's own side, whatever downfalls there are, such as beating them and hiding their clothes, those who are of the same name and the same view, whatever is the vow of being of the same name and the same view, is a branch of that. Therefore, for those who do not belong to one's own side, it will become a lower punishment. Just as it is reprehensible to argue wrongly for one's own side, so it can be understood from the way it is not reprehensible to argue wrongly for others. For nuns, too, it should be understood in this way in all respects. Here, some examples should be stated: a vowed person gives clothes to a non-vowed person and then takes them back, and a non-vowed person gives clothes to a vowed person and then takes them back, and accusing nuns and probationary nuns of faults.
