If one takes anything while begging, then for a Bhikshu, it becomes a transgression, and so on. In order to illustrate the specificity of that situation, it is said, "A minor offense is oneself," and it is connected to "if the gender changes." In a situation where the gender has not changed, if one is committing a minor offense, then when the gender changes, it will only become one's own offense, and will not become more severe. For example, if a Bhikshuni is committing the offense of emitting semen, and her gender changes to become a Bhikshu, then emitting semen will only become an offense for that Bhikshu, and will not become a Sanghavasesa. This illustrates that due to the change of gender, the precept of a Patayantika becomes a minor offense, but a minor offense does not become a Sanghavasesa. Some say that some offenses are the same, such as killing, and so on. That is because the difference in body causes a difference in intention, and the difference in intention causes a difference in offense. Therefore, the offenses of body and intention become the substantial cause of a minor offense, but do not become the substantial cause of a Sanghavasesa. Sometimes, if the gender changes while committing a Sanghavasesa offense, then the offense becomes a minor offense. Sometimes, when the actual offense has occurred and the time for committing a Sanghavasesa has passed, it becomes one's own offense, and does not become a minor offense. "Not reaching ten days is a part" means that if a Bhikshu holds an extra bowl for more than ten days, then it becomes an offense to be relinquished, but if a Bhikshuni holds it for more than one day, then it becomes an offense to be relinquished. If a Bhikshu holds an extra bowl for less than ten days, such as within nine days, and during that time the gender changes and becomes a Bhikshuni, then those nine days are part of the first day that the Bhikshuni has not obtained a bowl, and belong to that day, so exceeding nine days will not become an offense to be relinquished. If ten days are completed, then the time for holding is finished. Because the rules for holding a bowl are different for Bhikshus and Bhikshunis, this sutra is spoken, but not for holding robes and so on.

It is for the sake of similar rituals. It is stated thus: When a bhikkhu's period of holding [the precepts] has passed from one to nine days, if he becomes a bhikkhuni, then those nine days belong to that one day, so he has no fault. Here, the treatise states that if a monk temporarily obtains a bhikkhu's bowl and then transforms into a bhikkhuni, if she holds it for more than a year, she will commit a downfall, becoming an expiable downfall. Does a monk bhikkhu commit an expiable downfall by holding an extra bowl for more than a year? Yes, because when the bhikkhu obtains the bowl, he has already transformed, becoming a bhikkhuni. The phrase "it is not that the field itself disappears" refers to the act of transformation, which is combined with "what has been done." If one transforms, then the non-common transgressions committed in the state before the transformation, because it is not that field, therefore the body after the transformation is not the field of non-common transgressions itself, and the non-common downfalls committed in the state before the transformation should be understood as having vanished and disappeared, and there is no need to confess. This is the concluding statement. For example, for non-common downfalls, previously without permission, placing an attendant without obtaining consent, committing a downfall, and the precepts such as not distributing foot massages in an obvious way, if a bhikkhuni who has transgressed these precepts transforms into a bhikkhu, then for those non-common downfalls, because it is not the field, those downfalls are as if they do not exist. Here, the treatise states that from the basis of conversation, a bhikkhu commits the four non-common downfalls, and then transforms into a bhikkhuni, then it should be said that she has been freed from those downfalls. A bhikkhuni commits the five non-common downfalls, and then transforms into a bhikkhu, then it should be said that he has been freed from those downfalls. The phrase "it is not that the offense is not concealed" means that if one transforms, then "what has been done is that very thing," and "it is not that the field itself disappears," for that concealed offense, what has been done is not that it has not disappeared, but that it has completely disappeared. Therefore, a bhikkhu conceals a sanghavasesa.
