There is no offense in sprinkling water on a fainting Bhikshu. It is not permissible to say "Thu" to a Bhikshu, meaning one should not say "Thu" by spitting at a Bhikshu. Here, the scripture states from the beginning of saying "Thu" is not permissible in minor matters, up to the initial "reliance." Therefore, a Bhikshuni should not spit at a Bhikshu; if she spits, she commits a grave offense. It is not permissible to say "this renunciate" to a Bhikshu. The term "this renunciate" should be understood to include Bhikshus, etc., because the offense of rebuking the Bhikshuni Sangha has already been explained separately. Rebuking another "this renunciate" is categorized as a Dukkrida offense. Rebuking a Bhikshu is a serious matter, therefore one should practice the pleasure practice every half month. Both of those are not permissible, meaning that insulting and rebuking "this renunciate," that is, one should not do both of the previously mentioned trainings. It is not permissible to walk in the practice area in front of a Bhikshu, meaning a Bhikshuni should not sit for alms in a village in front of a Bhikshu. Here, the scripture states that therefore a Bhikshuni should not walk in front of entering the practice area of a Bhikshu; the Bhikshu can enter the practice area that the Bhikshu has abandoned. It is not permissible to walk with a Bhikshu on an unstable bridge, meaning a Bhikshuni should not walk with a Bhikshu on an unstable, swaying bridge. Here, the scripture states that therefore a Bhikshuni should not walk with a Bhikshu on the same bridge; if she walks, she commits a grave offense. It is permissible to walk on bridges that are stable and wide, and one should not regret this. Upon seeing a Bhikshuni, one should immediately rise from the seat; the scripture states that therefore upon seeing a Bhikshuni, one should immediately rise from the seat; if one does not rise, one commits a grave offense. If sitting causes the time to pass much longer than standing, then she should be allowed to sit on the seat, Bhikshu

If a bhikshuni, because she is sitting on a seat, spends a very long time in the deportment of standing, she should be made to sit on the seat. If not, she should ask to sit down and be made to sit there. That is to say, if a bhikshu does not make a bhikshuni sit on a seat, the bhikshuni herself, in order to sit on the seat, should ask the bhikshu, and if he allows, she should sit on that seat. Here, the meaning of these two sutras is that, therefore, a bhikshu should say to a bhikshuni, 'If you want to listen to the Dharma, sit down.' If the bhikshu is negligent or forgets, the bhikshuni should say, 'Venerable, please come to the seat,' and then sit down, so it is said. The three offenses of despising those who have become teachers, namely, the offense of despising the bhikshuni sangha, the offense of scolding the bhikshuni sangha, and the offense of scattering water on the main retinue, have been explained. If there is a disturbance, it will become the offense of abandoning the disturbance, therefore, it is said, 'To the disputes of the bhikshunis, even though one has the power, one does not pacify them.' For those who have the power to pacify, but do not pacify the disputes of the bhikshunis, this fault will occur. If, when the body changes or the mind changes, and one does not abandon the thought, then there is only one offense. When one abandons the thought of not pacifying and generates another thought, it will become another offense. The offense of abandoning the disturbance has been explained. If there is an offense of not being agreeable, therefore, it is said, 'Giving an expired desire.' Giving an expired desire means that the previous day a desire has been offered to another person, but that desire still exists, because she has not yet withdrawn the previous desire, so she says, 'Why should I offer a tolerant desire today?' and does not give the subsequent desire. Therefore, it is shown in this way that for the affairs of the sangha, the previous day a desire has been requested from another person, but that matter was not done on that day, and later it is done on another day.
