Therefore, regarding giving, an offense arises here. In the Pratimoksha Sutra, it says, "If given," the explanation of this is saying, "If bestowed." The limit is that up to the extent of covering the three circles, it is a downfall. Exceeding one cubit is a misdeed. Smaller than that, there is no downfall. For the sake of protecting children, whatever is permitted for giving robes, there is no downfall for giving robes that cover the end of the three circles. The downfall of disrespecting the banner of the Dharma has been explained. Because of what becomes the downfall of exchanging banners, it is said, "Exchanging robes with a monk." "Monk and robe" means that exchanging the great robe is the main action. Exchanging upper garments, etc., is a misdeed. Here, taking incurs an offense, but giving does not. Therefore, except for exchanging good for bad, taking a robe from a monk is a downfall. "Exchanging" is merely an example of taking. The downfall of exchanging banners has been explained. Now, from here on, five downfalls arising from stinginess will be shown. Among them, because of what becomes the downfall of being stingy with praise, it is said, "Being stingy with praise." When other nuns praise, an offense arises from being stingy because the postures of body and speech become inconsistent. Being stingy in mind alone should be restrained, which is a misdeed. It should be known that restraining in all cases is a mental misdeed. The same should be applied to the following four bases of training. Because of what becomes the four downfalls of being stingy with family, stingy with dwelling, stingy with gain, and stingy with Dharma, it is said, "Being stingy with family, dwelling, gain, and Dharma." Here, it should be applied that stinginess arises for each of family, etc. The origin here is that Spomdagamo heard other nuns correctly praising virtues

Then (they) scolded her, and those nuns said, "Holy mother, why do you scold?" Spomdegamo said, "I was born into the Shakya clan and possess the three pitakas, but instead of praising me, they praise others." This is the end of that. Spomdegamo asked the other nuns, "Where do you beg for food and obtain it?" After all the nuns had spoken, Spomdegamo scolded and stopped them, "Don't go to so-and-so's house." This is the end of that. Spomdegamo let the nuns do the summer retreat, and then the nuns stayed there, leisurely walking with their feet. Spomdegamo stayed on the other side of the lower room, and at that time Spomdegamo scolded those nuns and transformed like this: "Who are those arrogant walking transformers?" The nuns said, "Holy mother, are you stingy with the residence?" She said, "Why shouldn't I be stingy? I teach the Dharma until blisters appear on my tongue." Until the quarrel. Spomdegamo thought, "These nuns go begging early, they must get food before me." So she was greedy for food and clothing, and spent the night with a mind related to food. Before others had started to go, Spomdegamo went begging at dawn, and the Brahmin saw her and said, "Seeing a bald woman is unlucky." So he grabbed her and beat her severely. This is the end of that. The nuns said to Spomdegamo, "Holy mother, we need you to give us prophecies, please give us prophecies." So they prayed. She made them carry corpses and made them do hard labor. Those nuns thought, "Why don't you give us prophecies? The holy mother is stingy with the Dharma." So they asked her, and she said, "Why shouldn't I be stingy?" This is the end of that. Thus spoke the Blessed One. The five transgressions arising from stinginess are the transgression of being stingy with praise.

The downfall of being stingy with one's home, the downfall of being stingy with one's dwelling, the downfall of being stingy with gains, and the downfall of being stingy with the Dharma, these five have been explained. Now, from here on, I will explain the two downfalls that arise from expulsion. Among them, for whom does expulsion from the summer residence become a downfall? Therefore, it is said, "Expelling any bhikṣuṇī from the summer residence," this has been said. "Any" means in any way, whether by one's own body and speech, or by entrusting it to others, or by letters, etc., expelling a bhikṣuṇī from the summer residence of a bhikṣuṇī, for that bhikṣuṇī, this is a fault. This is to say that Sbudga (Sboṅ dgaʼ) oppressed the feet and hands of the bhikṣuṇīs who had previously resided there, and they said, "Holy Mother, why do you harm us?" She said, "Harming whom depends on where they go." They thought, "If this is the case, we will be separated from life." So they stood up from their seats, all of which were established from the cave. Therefore, any expulsion will cause a fault here. The rest, in the chapter on the downfall of expelling a bhikṣu, if it does not cause harm to him and does not disturb the Sangha, etc., should be combined as previously shown. For whom does expulsion from another's home become a downfall? Therefore, it is said, "Expelling a bhikṣuṇī who previously resided in another's home," this has been said. Expelling a bhikṣuṇī who previously resided in another's home of a householder, in any way, will cause a fault. The later one, because it belongs to that part less, therefore expelling her should be known as a misdeed. The two downfalls caused by expulsion, namely the downfall of expelling from the summer residence, and the downfall of expelling from another's home, these two have been explained. For whom does the downfall caused by conflict occur? Therefore, it is said, "Arguing because of not seeing well, etc.," this has been said. For the bhikṣuṇī, combine it like this. Arguing with a bhikṣuṇī about a downfall because of not seeing well, etc., will cause a fault. The sound of "etc." includes both not hearing well and not doubting well. The basis
