Thread and cloth are related in nature as cause and effect in all that should be done, and because they are similar in accomplishment. Just as spinning thread can accomplish something, so too is the possession of robes by the Bhikshuni Sangha similar, therefore, after spinning thread, the possession of robes by the Bhikshuni Sangha is established. After the offense of the Bhikshuni Sangha possessing robes, the offense of selling food will be discussed, because these two are also exactly the same in accomplishment. Just as the Bhikshuni Sangha possessing robes can accomplish wealth, so too can selling food accomplish wealth. Now, the first of these two will be shown first, in order to explain under what circumstances the offense of the Bhikshuni Sangha possessing robes is constituted, therefore it is said, "Regarding the Bhikshuni Sangha possessing robes." The offense is constituted by the Bhikshunis possessing robes. This is because the Bhikshuni Sthulananda said to the nun Utpalavarna, "If the Blessed One allows us to hold rags, we do not have them, so you should give them to us." Then she gave all the cloth to the Bhikshunis, and Sthulananda took possession of it. Afterwards, many Bhikshunis begged from Sthulananda, and she did not give it, therefore this precept was established. This does not constitute an offense arising from taking what is not given, because it was begged for and obtained by oneself, therefore the situation of taking possession occurred. This precept is actually a reflection of the transformation after dedication, just as "transformation from dedication" means that dedicating to others is transferring to others. But here, even if it is something that has been given to others, the owner himself still takes possession of it, therefore it is similar to this, so it is called its reflection. Here, the word "Sangha" refers to the Sangha, just as it is also said in the Vibhanga, "The robes of the Sangha belong to the Sangha." For one or two or three, it is a Dukkrida offense. Of the Bhikshunis

The transgression of possessing the property of the Sangha has been explained. Under what circumstances does the transgression of selling food occur? Therefore, it is said, "Having done the act of selling food." Whether it is butter, rice flour, grain oil, or any other food, if it is sold, this transgression will occur. Once the transaction is completed, it is the actual transgression. Before that, it is a minor transgression. If the transaction is done for the sake of profit, then even at the time of gaining profit, one will be penalized. The transgression of selling food has been explained. Having explained the two transgressions related to the occasion, now the second transgression of a woman managing household affairs will be discussed. Under what circumstances does the transgression of managing household affairs occur? Therefore, it is said, "It is also household affairs." Because it is a review, the word "also" is used. Household affairs refer to immediate tasks, such as hammering things in the house, cleaning, preparing food, cooking food, drinks, and snacks, washing hands and feet, forgetting the family deities, performing incense offerings and torma (Sanskrit: bali, offerings, sacrifices), drying and airing things, arranging bedding and cushions, placing and arranging things, providing shoes and bath towels, taking clothes and providing clothes for bathing, and so on. No matter how much is done, if it is done, it is a transgression. "Not doing the work of alcohol" means that the work of alcohol refers to the work of brewing tools such as pressing, and the bhikkhuni should not do these. The Sutra and the next Sutra both come from minor matters. "Not allowing entry into a tavern" means not allowing others to enter a place called a tavern, let alone doing it oneself, because the offense is very serious if one does it oneself, so it should also be prohibited. Now the third transgression of a woman managing household affairs will be discussed. Under what circumstances does the transgression of cooking raw food occur? Therefore, it is said, "Cooking raw food." Raw food refers to food that was previously cooked by a bhikkhu, and for food that does not become soft, it is raw food when it is one-third cooked. For food that becomes soft, it refers to when the color changes.

It is said that the essence is boiled twice. If it is boiled raw, then that is the real thing. For the sake of the Bhikshu's Sangha, the Khenpo, the Acharya, and the Brahmacharis, there is no transgression in a secluded place. This means that for their sake, because it is in accordance with the meaning of the Dharma, it should be understood that there is no transgression in cooking in a secluded place. Saying "Brahmacharis" includes all renunciants, not householders. The three transgressions caused by women showing off their skills, namely the transgression of spinning thread, the transgression of doing housework, and the transgression of cooking raw food, these three have been explained. Under what circumstances will one commit a transgression due to gluttony? Therefore, it is said that after eating, one stands up from the seat and eats again. This means that after doing the act of eating, one stands up from the seat, and after leaving the seat, one eats again, and in this way, one will commit this offense. What is the difference between the transgression of eating leftovers and this? There is a difference. The so-called eating leftovers refers to vowing not to eat after finishing the meal, and after standing up from the seat, one eats the leftovers, and only then will one commit this offense. This refers to eating only one kind of food, eating and standing up to walk around, and eating and standing up to walk around again, and only then will one be judged to have committed this offense. For the same kind of food, vowing not to eat it again, and then eating the leftovers, these two transgressions will occur at the same time. This refers to a gluttonous person who gets up early in the morning, begs for alms and puts it around himself, and picks up and puts down the bowl again, eating and putting it down, eating and stopping, and not putting it down until noon, and doing this all the time, so this precept was established, and this is because of gluttony. If a Bhikshu does this, then he has committed an evil deed. The word "gluttony" is a synonym for greed and strong desire. The transgression caused by gluttony has been explained. Under what circumstances will one commit a transgression by consuming food that is not distributed by the Sangha? Therefore, it is said, garlic.
