The offense of engaging in sexual activity is a grave offense. This is summarized from the effort of the coarse-delighted woman inserting her hand into the wound's opening. The downfall of acting as if engaging in sexual activity has been explained. Under what circumstances does it become a downfall of harming as if engaging in sexual activity? Therefore, it is said, "Striking her with the palm of the hand." That is to say, striking her vulva with the palm of the hand incurs this offense. Whether it is with a mind of desire or without a mind of desire, there is no distinction. Just as engaging in sexual activity causes harm such as swelling pain, striking with the palm of the hand also causes harm, so it is called harming as if engaging in sexual activity. The downfall that arises from this is called the downfall of harming as if engaging in sexual activity. The downfall of harming as if engaging in sexual activity has been explained. Under what circumstances does it become a downfall of adorning what should be engaged in? Therefore, it is said, "Doing or causing the plucking of hair." That is to say, oneself plucking or shaving the pubic hair on the vulva, or causing another to do it, incurs this offense. Here, the offense of touching is not distinguished. If a man touches, it becomes a Parajika offense; if a woman touches, it is a grave offense, because the offense has already been explained. This is not for beauty; plucking a few hairs is not beauty. It is only beautiful if most of it is plucked like this. "Plucking most of it" means leaving a third of it here, at which time it is the actual thing. It should be understood that a single operation belongs to the remainder. For a Bhikshu, this is a Dukata offense. If it is done with sexual desire, it is a grave offense belonging to Parajika. If it is done with the desire to ejaculate, it is a grave offense belonging to Sanghavasesa. Striking with the palm of the hand, if a Bhikshu does it with desire, it is a grave offense. If there is no desire, it is a Dukata offense. The downfall of adorning what should be engaged in has been explained.

Finished. Now, from here onwards, eleven downfall offenses concerning things that should not be touched and reliance are explained. The faults arising from a Bhikshuni's touching of a man's untouchable parts and relying on him in a touching manner are called the downfall offenses of untouchable things and reliance. Among these, the first will be explained in detail. If standing together with a householder constitutes a downfall offense, therefore it is said, "Standing with a householder in a secluded and protected place." This means that if a Bhikshuni alone has the ability to rely on a householder and is in a secluded and protected place, whether sitting or standing within a fathom, this fault will occur. If she does not have the ability to rely on a man, it is a minor offense. To explain the characteristics of a secluded and protected place, it is said, "Walls, adobe, curtains, thick objects, and darkness accomplish it." This means that these five accomplish a secluded and protected place. If standing together with a Bhikshu constitutes a downfall offense, therefore it is said, "Bhikshu first," and it is connected to "standing together in a secluded and protected place." If standing together with a householder without a screen constitutes a downfall offense, therefore it is said, "Without a screen, the former and face to face." This means that in a place without a screen, without interruption, the former and face to face standing together with a householder constitutes this fault, which is a concluding statement. If standing together with a Bhikshu without a screen constitutes a downfall offense, therefore it is said, "The latter first," and it is connected to "standing together without a screen." "The latter and face to face" refers to facing a Bhikshu. For these three situations, even sitting constitutes a downfall offense, because these situations are very serious. If he himself has a companion, there is no downfall offense, meaning that if the Bhikshu himself has a companion. Here, the text says that if the Bhikshu himself has a companion, there is no downfall offense. It is also the same if the Bhikshuni herself has a monastic companion.
