If there is a deficiency, then the Sangha's container, even if its work is not finished, should not be used, but should be returned. Thus it is taught, if any Bhikshu takes the Sangha's utensil, and when its work is not finished, if there is another person who needs it, and I also have other utensils, then at that time the Sangha's utensil should be abandoned and returned. If it is necessary, there is no fault in being separated from such a situation, meaning that if that person, that is, the last person who needs the Sangha's utensil, really needs it, and the earliest person clearly has his own container, but does not give the Sangha's utensil to the last person, then from that situation, the last person should put the Sangha's container, that is, the one containing things, into his own other container, and separate the Sangha's revolving and used utensils from there and take them away, there is no fault. If it is not necessary, it should not be separated. The Sangha should hold a grinding stone and a pestle, meaning that the pestle is precious because it can grind salt and so on.
