It is said that it is so. The text of the previous sutra is: If the statues and so on become old due to dust, and the monks do not repair them due to regret, the Blessed One taught: Do not make what is increasing or equal smaller. It is said that it is so. It is said that it is also permissible to raise umbrellas and so on, meaning that it is not a fault to raise them from stupas and statues and so on in order to repair the old ones. The word "etc." also includes rain gear and so on. It is said that it is also permissible to place others, meaning that it is not only permissible to raise them in order to repair the old ones, but it is also permissible to raise them in order to place others. It is said that one should not raise what has not been placed for that purpose, meaning that for the purpose of placing others, one should not raise the previous one before placing umbrellas and so on. The text here is: After others have raised umbrellas and so on, when those people pass away, the Blessed One taught: Do not raise them until others have been placed. It is said that it is also permissible to have drawings of Jataka tales and so on, and letters of the Buddha's teachings, meaning that it is not a fault to erase those in order to repair the old ones. If you ask why erase them, the answer is: Because it is only for the sake of making the difference of erasing, it is said that the difference of erasing the pictures and texts of the stories is only for the sake of rewriting, and it is not a fault to erase them. This shows that: The difference between the stories and the difference between the letters, only those two should be erased for the sake of rewriting, not for the sake of others. It is said that if the author does not finish, others can do the rest, meaning that whoever builds stupas and temples and so on, if the author starts building but does not finish, it is not unreasonable for others to do the rest. If half is built for the sake of the Sangha, the foundation should be given, meaning that if the patron builds half of the temple and so on for the sake of the Sangha, then the Sangha should give the foundation, and there are rules here.

It should be understood that there is no inconsistency. The reason for saying "therefore" is not only because it seeks equality of parts, but also as a slightly emphasized expression. Here, the scripture is what the Blessed One said: For the unfinished foundation, monks should initiate by building. Monks work only when the sun rises, and the Blessed One said: Do not work only when the sun rises, but do it once like this. The time allowed for it is, if it is winter, then after the meal. If it is summer, then before the meal. This is the time allowed by building. Here, the scripture is that monks work in summer after the meal, and in winter before the meal, and the Blessed One said: In winter, one should work after the meal, and in summer, one should work before the meal, and so on. The so-called remaining time for food work means that as long as the time for food work, such as washing the bowl, has passed, one should not work. The so-called not starting life without cleaning means that the work of building, without cleaning such as washing, one should not start living by begging for alms and so on. The so-called end of it is washing hands and feet, which refers to the end of the cleaning work. The so-called who should apply food with the palm of the hand means that if the monks work before the meal, then who should apply food with the palm of the hand at that time. The so-called applying drinks and massaging hands and feet after the meal means that if the monks work after the meal, then one should apply drinks and so on with the palm of the hand at that time. The so-called opening the door of the dwelling refers to the Sangha or an individual. The so-called installing the door leaf refers to the door. The so-called door ring, eyes, and leather fragments, etc., refer to being installed on the door leaf. The so-called opening the window refers to the dwelling. If asked in which direction it should be opened, therefore, it is said "in the middle," which refers to the surface of the wall. If asked what the shape is like, then
