Should be done, the elder should be saluted, the old and frail should be saluted by the newcomers. Even if frail, one should still salute, even if the newcomer is frail, they should still salute the elder. Here, the scripture says that even if the newcomer is frail, they should still salute. The Tathagata should not be addressed by age, name, or surname; the Tathagata should not be addressed as "Long-lived One," nor should their name be called directly, nor should they be addressed by their surname. One should not address their name or surname with intimate words; one should not address their name or surname with intimate words. Here, the scripture says that the teacher's name should be addressed with intimate words, and one should say "World Honored One Shakyamuni Buddha," etc. The elder should not directly call their name or surname with intimate words. Here, the titles "Ayushman" and "Elder" are in accordance with the meaning of intimate words. The former is not so, for the Tathagata, addressing the teacher as "Ayushman" and "Elder" is not in accordance with the meaning of intimate words. A monastery should be established in a place where one can walk and come and go with a staff. A place where one can go anywhere and also come. That which does not change by gathering again and again is a rare custom. Speaking of coming to speak freely is called garrulousness. The recitation of Brahmins and the terms of desire, and the sounds of elephants and horses, etc., are sounds. The sounds of earthenware drums, etc., are tiny. If the donor permits, from the objects used to build the temple, it means to use it as a tool: If the donor permits, then from any material used to build the temple, it is not inappropriate to use hand-made tools. Here the scripture says that if the householder gives it, it should be placed near it for use. Giving the house where it is placed means: The house where the hand-made tools are placed should be given. Here the scripture says that the house should also be given and placed there. The grain and ghee, etc., needed there should be bought in moderation, which means: The grain and ghee, etc., needed for the hand-made work should be bought as needed. What kind of public share is made by hand, what kind of food should be eaten, which means that the food made by hand, the four monks should eat what kind of public share, and should not eat more. What is the public share of food and soup in the temple mixed with? The hand-made person should mix and eat with the public share of food and soup of other monks belonging to which temple. If there is no temple in that place, it belongs to the nearby temple, which means: If there is no other temple in that place, then the same amount of food as the nearby temple should be eaten. Obtaining the benefit of ghee means: Even if you do, you should get it like other monks' shares. Volume 69. The end of the stacking of temples is five, which means it is for the monks. The end of the stacking of monks is three. Here the scripture says that from the fragments, the temples of the monks should be stacked five stories high. The incense room should be stacked seven stories high. The pavilion on the roof should also be stacked seven stories high. The temples of the nuns should be stacked three stories high.

Five stories. The gazebo above the gatehouse is also five stories, and so on, it is said. The number of stories of the clean room and the gazebo above the gatehouse is increased by two stories, that is to say, the temple is increased by two stories, the monks' is seven stories. The nuns' is five stories. If those are leaning and collapsing, then there is no fault in demolishing the stories, that is to say, if the temples of monks and nuns are leaning and collapsing, then there is no fault in demolishing the stories, how many stories are demolished, one or more, then demolish that many. It is also okay to demolish for the purpose of building, expanding or changing, which is also connected with no fault, the temple is completed, equipped with utensils, etc., in order to expand from small to large, or not equipped with utensils, etc., there is no fault in demolishing from large to small. Here the scripture says, if you can't get people to do it, demolish it, get people to make it small, don't throw it away. Stupas and Buddha statues, etc. are for expansion, that is to say, there is no fault in demolishing after construction, and there is fault in demolishing those two after construction in order to reduce them. Because it is old, it can also be repaired, and it can also be the same, that is to say, stupas and Buddha statues and old ones are repaired with new ones, not only construction, but also repair is okay, construction or repair of those, not only is there no fault in demolishing for the purpose of expansion, but there is also no fault in demolishing in order to be the same as before. For the old ones that cannot be expanded by repairing, it should be understood that what is said here is that there is no fault in being the same as the original. It is also okay to repair locally, that is to say, there is no fault in demolishing the local old parts of stupas and Buddha statues, etc. for repair. Here the scripture says, when stupas and Buddha statues, etc. are old, the Blessed One taught, repair.
