If so, how does one rely on disputes to fight, expose shortcomings, argue, and gamble? They say that whatever is gambled is argued for the sake of gambling. Like this, fighting and so on are the cycle of disputes that measure words, because they arise from being associated with this. Truly speaking, the dispute itself is the argument, like this, because it is the basis of the argument, one should know that the thing that has become the basis is arguing for the sake of gambling. What are the four causes of disputes? Therefore, it is said that the inverted proof of the suchness of things, abandonment, being accompanied by downfall, and not giving things that are in accordance with the work. The suchness of things is its own nature, which is a synonym for its own essence. Among them, inverted proof is uncertainty, that is, saying "it is Dharma" or "it is not Dharma" and so on, leading to ambiguity. Thus, the inverted proof of the suchness of things is the first cause of disputes. If only the inverted proof of the suchness of things is taken as the first cause of disputes, then gambling will also arise from acting on this kind of form of things, why did you take this or give this, or say that you did not make this arrangement on the body? Whatever is gambled is also not not the suchness of things, because it will intervene to say "this should be done" or "this should not be done." If you ask like this, then here you should know not to include things that are similar to this, therefore, this kind of gambling will only arise on the very essence of things, therefore, you should know that from the inverted proof of the suchness of things, arguments for the sake of gambling will arise. Abandonment is abandoning others because admonishments and so on will be placed, this is the second cause of disputes. You should know that from this cause, arguments that do not admonish will arise. Being accompanied by downfall is the third cause of disputes, because disputes will arise from falling. Not giving things that are in accordance with the work is not giving things that are in accordance with works such as prayers

of giving, that is the fourth cause of strife. Therefore, disputes arise for the sake of action. How can these four strifes, caused by these four causes of strife, be pacified? Therefore, what arises from the first cause is said to be pacified by making it a single lineage. The first cause, that is, arguing perversely about the suchness of things, the dispute that arises from this in order to quell the strife, is pacified by making it a single lineage. It is also the same as being subdued by manifestation. Lineage means definite realization. Any thing for which there is one definite realization is called a single lineage, that is, it is to be established as one. Making definite realization one-sided is a synonym for knowledge. In this way, arguing perversely about the self-nature of things is called doubt. Doubt is the opposite of definite realization, therefore, by making it a single lineage, perverse arguments are pacified because it becomes one-sided. What arises from the second cause is: by giving purity. The second cause, that is, the dispute that arises from abandonment, for the sake of not choosing, is pacified by giving purity. Subduing by mindfulness and subduing by non-intoxication are also the same. In this way, the mindfulness that is related to what is to be discussed, by subduing this, the dispute of subduing by mindfulness is pacified. The very thing that is to be discussed, because of intoxication, later arises with certainty and becomes the nature of not losing consciousness, which is called non-intoxication here. Therefore, by subduing, here the dispute of subduing by non-intoxication is pacified. Abandonment, there are those with causes, and there are those without causes. If it is with causes, then by making it a single lineage, the dispute that arises from it will be pacified, because the appropriateness of abandonment has become certain. If it is without cause, then it will be pacified by giving purity, if there is no cause for abandonment, then purity
